I used to believe…
That you got had a baby by kissing.
I used to believe…
My senior year of high school, myself and a group of friends (all female) were joking around about sexual nonsense and oral sex, when one of the girls stops the conversation and says, "wait, can't you get pregnant if you swallow?" She was 18.

I used to believe... if you were a teenager and got a tampon wet by placing it under a running faucet (in the bathroom specifically), it would start bleeding.
I believed that it was physically impossible for women to get pregnant unless they were married-- like a special pregnancy hormone was released after marriage. I wasn't too sure of the means, but I knew I wouldn't have to worry about it until I was happily wed!
I used to think that giving birth was not passing a baby though the birth canal, but waiting until the point where the mother's skin covering her stomach liquefied and bubbled until the baby emerged from the depths. Kinda like a tar pit.

When I was little, I thought that babies came from melons--cantelope, honeydew, watermelons. I thought this was why women squeezed melons at the market; the women who wanted babies would pick the firm melons, while the women who didn't would pick the soft, squishy ones. I also believed that the melons with the babies in them came from pregnant women--hence the round stomach--and that somewhere there was a farm where women birthed melons to be sold at grocery stores.

After finding my dad's stash of pornographic pictures I thought I learned about the birds and the bees: Pregnancy is initiated by putting a penis into a woman's mouth.
Very strange year of my life.

When I was a child, my parents did a thorough job of explaining how babies were made. I knew women had vaginas, men had penises, women had eggs, men had sperm, and babies were made when the sperm and egg got together. However, I didn't realize that the penis had to be inside the vagina for this to happen. When I got a new, male teacher in 2nd grade, I was petrified that his sperm would get my eggs pregnant. I could picture the sperm wiggling across the floor, crawling up my legs, and getting into my vagina, so I would sit with my legs crossed so tightly together my legs would fall asleep. After a few weeks of this, I asked my mom for a little more clarification, and I could tell she felt really guilty!

Until I was 12 years old I used to believe that losing your virginity meant kissing a boy!
I saw a movie with John Travolta in it. He was talking to some girl and she had said something about condoms, then he flipped out a butterfly knife.
Until I was 15, I thought a condom was a knife.
I used to believe that 'menstruating' meant meditating while sitting in water.

Women were impregnated by eating a lot of cheese

When I first learned the definition of the word "lesbian" I could not, for the life of me, figure out how they had sex without even half a penis between them. After a great deal of thought, I decided that the only sexy bit that protruded from a woman is the breast, and that therefore lesbians must have sex by putting one woman's boob into the other woman's vagina.
I used to believe women gave birth through their anuses. So near and yet so far...
I used to believe that the "feminine product" machines in the public bathrooms contained tootsie rolls and gum. So I always used to ask my mom for a quarter so I could get a tootsie roll... not knowing that it was really a tampon.

Up until I was 9, I thought that you could get pregnant from kissing.

I used to believe that if a girl swam in a public pool that a boy had peed in she would become pregnant

After discovering masturbation very early on, I found a blue, plush pillow that I would rub against my penis. I assumed that the pillow was full of drugs that made me feel good, that I was breaking the law, and that my penis would turn into a vagina if I didn't stop masturbating.
i used to believe that babies came out the anal hole until oneday a friend (not really)told me that babies come from the vulva.i made fun of him because that place was (i thought)ad-hoc for pissing

When I was very little I asked my mom if women who didn't have sex could still get pregnant. She paused for a moment, and then said "Sometimes."
Today, I'm fairly certain she'd meant the Virgin Mary was the exception. For years, however, I lived in mortal fear of spontaneous pregnancy.
