i beleived that women's breasts were attached only at the top of the breast, and that the rest just 'dangled'. this meant that you would be able to lift them like a flap.

I used to believe…
by the age of 3 i had figured out human reproduction as an act that took place while kissing. the process was much the same in my mind, except that fluid was inserted into the woman's mouth by the man's mouth, and proceeded down to the correct place through the digestive system. i believed in this until around the age of 8.
My mother told me that sex was when the man and woman are married, and something to do with sex happens, then the woman has a baby. I wondered for a long time - how does the woman's body know she's *married*??

When I was little, I thought necking was getting kissed on the neck. None of m friends knew the truth so they couldn't enlighten me.
While taking Sex Education class, my teacher would always refer to people's private parts as the "groin area". I misunderstood him and thought that he was saying "growing area". It some wierd way, it made sense to me to call a man's private parts the "growing area", but I was really confused why a woman's private parts should be called that too!
I used to believe that a man's penis stuck straight out in front of him, completely perpendicular to the rest of his body and would stay that way. This would be the reason I would just knock my Barbie and Ken together to simulate them having sex.
When my Mum had periods she used tampons, they were Mummy's Egg Catchers that stopped the chicken-like eggs from crashing on the floor.
I used to think that gay boys had sex by having "sword fights"
My first boyfriend couldnt understand how I could be able to pee if I had my period and was wearing a tampon. He thought it all came out of the same hole!!! He was 16 at the time...
I was 8 yrs old when my breasts began to grow. My mom told me to go see my school nurse, because SHE believed it was breast cancer.
My school nurse told me not to worry: It's simply the glands growing. (For some reason she couldn't use the word tits or breasts, which I would've understood.) I thought GLANDS were something truly fatal.
It was another 8-year old, who finally told me what the lumps were about.
For a long time when I was a young teenager and before I ever had sex, I knew that a girl had two "holes" but I was always scared that I would get it in the wrong hole or that I wouldn't know what one to put it in!
when i was 6 my mum gave me a bok about babies and all i remember from it is sperm with top-hats on and bow ties and i used to think they were tadpoles. so i thought that if a woman wanted to get pregnant we would have to sit in a pond where there were tadpoles and one would swim right up there and she would get pregnant.
My mom used to only occasionally go to the beauty parlor to have her hair done up into a bouffant hairdo. As a sensitive and somewhat impressionable child, I remember the somewhat chemical smell of the beauty parlor's caustic dyes and bleaches, and in my furtive imagination, I put those smells together with the preponderance of women in those establishments and came up with the idea that women, especially women on their period, smelled like that, at least "en mass". My father also had a very definite "man smell" that today I remember as distinctive. I knew that someday, as a male of the species, I too would sport that "funk". It was a shock when I formulated my theory about the females of the race. They stunk too, like the beauty parlor, even as my mom didn't. I'm glad to say that adulthood and sexual discovery dispelled that notion that ladies smelled like hair dye. I have to say that a few of the gals that I have been with have had, let us say, a "fragrance of their own" post coitus (as we all do), but none have had that distinctive smell of hydrogen peroxide, thank god...

When I was about 5 I believed that you could become pregnant from being kissed on the neck.

Just before puberty set in, a friend told me that if I was to ever shave my thighs all of my future pregnancy's would miscarry.
I thought that when a woman went for her check-up, they put her to sleep (general anesthesia), because who'd want to be awake when some doctor-man is looking at your private parts?

I use to think orgasms was a shorten name for the word organisms.
i thought that a boy's penis was always kept tightly tucked under his body (as in, the tip pointing backwards). this seemed the only logical way to keep it from flinging around. i told that to my first boyfriend and he just laughed....
when my mother finally got around to giving my little brother the 'birds and the bees' talk, she just had to report to me that he had a strange belief... after she got done explaining about a girl's cycle, he asked, 'but why is it blue?' she was very confused for a moment and asked him where on earth he had gotten that idea. he told her on television it was blue, having seen those ads which show a feminine hygine product's amazing absorbancy when dealing with a large quantity of BLUE liquid. poor kid. must have scared him to death of women.
I remember being twelve and starting to develop nipples, and being convinced I was dying of breast cancer. I told my doctor, who just laughed. It was so embarrasing.
