I used to believe…

My mom one day had her period in the toilet and I asked, "What's that? Why is your pee red?" and she told me it was mommy juice and once I become a mommy I will get it too. I seriously believed that even when I knew what a period was. Then, when I was 9 I made the connection. LOL

When I first learned about condoms, I learned that they prevented the HIV virus from getting from one person to another. I was old enough to have learned that viruses and sperm were both very small things, but I hadn't realized that sex wasn't only to just make babies, so I spent a very long time trying to figure out how the condom stopped the viruses but not the sperm. I finally asked someone and was only more perplexed. Why would you have sex if it didn't result in a baby? And if you wanted to have a baby then you wouldn't be safe from HIV! (I didn't realize there was a test that could tell if you had HIV or not.)

I used to believe that kissing will make a girl pregnant. My mother used to tell me and my sisters not to allow a guy to kiss us because we will get pregnant. In my country where conservative values are practiced, being pregnant before the wedding day brings shame to the family. I believed this until I was in my early 20s.

I used to believe…

When I was in fourth grade a group of friends and I were standing around talking and a girl came up all excited and said "oh my god my mom told me how babies are made" and of course we were all eager to here, then she told us, "the dad sticks his penis in her vagina and he sprays this stuff if he wants to. if he sprays it for one minute then you'll have one baby. two minutes equals two babies and so on."

When I very little, I used to believe that when women would have periods, they would have it at midnight at the same time, and it would disappear the next day. I also thought that every girl carried a calender with the day they get their period marked, and if you were pregnant the baby would make you lose the calender.

having been brought up in a christian home, i was taught songs about the virgin Mary... when i asked my mum what a virgin was, she said it was someone who had never slept with someone else. I was about six at the time so i didnt know by 'sleep' she meant having sex, i though she literally meant sleep, so for like three years i was convinced i wasnt a virgin coz i had slept in the same bed as my sister lots of times

I am still a kid who is in middle school but when I was a bit younger I used to think that when the first time you kissed a boy on the lips you would become pregnant.

When I was younger I used to think when people said 'balls' or 'nuts' they meant penis. So if someone got hit in the balls they were hit in the penis.

When I was in 5th grade I thought that the equivalent of a girl having her period for boys was when they got an erection

When I was 4 or 5 I loed playing mommy with my baby dolls. I couldnt wait to be a real mommy! The only proble was, I didnt knowhow to get a real baby. I asked m mom one morning. She paused and said the stork brang it. I thought for a second and said "yeah right!" so she said, okay, you have to pray for a baby. So I said, "okay! I'll go pray right now!: "No!" She said. "you have to be a certain age, you have to be a grown-up" Oh. I replied. Well where do they come out of your belly? She said my belly button. For a while I belived her. Months later, I asked her again. This time she said "a specail hole" so I thought it was my butt hole. I soon got the idea that we were born as babydolls. I felt my cabage patches hard, round head and thought about how it would hurt badly! I kept thinking... Then when I was 9, I asked my mom "if daddys have nothing to do with when babies are born, how do i look like daddy?" she gave me the talk and I wasnt interested anymore.

i used to believe that having sex was when a guy and a girl got naked, got on top of each other and rubbed there bodies together.
i was only 5 and i didnt know that girls had anything in the front; just a blank spot.
so i thought that the babies came out of there butts.
when i found out the truth i was utterly confused.

Up until a few minutes ago (I'm 18) I thought that a gang bang was when a group of people raped someone, rather than willingly having sex with them. I always thought it was strange for rappers to openly mention in their songs that they were 'into gang banging', as I saw this as them admitting to raping somebody, and thought they risked being arrested!

Until i was 7,I believed that the stork actually delivered babies.

I was a very stupid kid....

I knew that to have sex, the penis had to go into the vagina, but i thought that the mom and dad just hugged and kissed a lot and the penis just eventually ended up in the mom.

I thought you could get pregnant by french kissing becuase your salivas mixed and formed the baby in your stomach.

I used to believe that you had to pray to tell God what kind of baby you wanted, a girl or boy, and that you had to have a baby no matter what. Then when the babby was born, it magically appeared in front of you, unless you had a c-section- I knew what that was.
