I used to believe…

Until I had a good look I always though men have testicles in two different sacks one hangin on each side of the penis. I had seen the illustrations on biology books but just thought the drawing was from one side only.

I used to believe…

Before I learned about how men have testicles, maybe up until the age of 8, I thoight that men just had a penis with a bunch of hair around it, and nothing else, and was always very baffled when I heard people referring to a guys "balls".
Now the funnier part- when I did eventually learn about testicles, I did not know about the "sack" that they are in, and I thought that they were just these two hollow "balls" stuck behind the guy's penis...

Until my mom was in high school, she didn't know that babies were made by having sex. She knew that people had sex and people had babies, but didn't know one led to the other. She contributes this to having gone to a Catholic school through 8th grade, and she said the only video she saw about it in school was a boy and girl kissing on a date, and then the girl in the doctor's office after having thrown up in the toilet.

I used to believe…

As a young boy, I had a "vague" concept of the female anatomy, but I knew that babies had to come out somewhere. I originally guessed this was in the chest area, but after I learned after bikinis, rib cages, and where it actually is, I corrected myself. This frequently made me wonder what the big deal was with female legs since I thought "But there's nothing down there!"

I used to believe that oral sex meant that you talked to somebody while you were both masturbating. I had taken an oral exam shortly before hearing the term, and the teacher said "oral" meant "out loud," During the Clinton scandal, the term "oral sex" was all over my school, but nobody actually said what it meant, just that it wasn't "real" sex and it didn't count as cheating. My definition seemed to fit those criteria, so I convinced myself of it for about a year.

I used to believe that in order to become pregnant, all you needed was to find a guy and marry him, and that was all to it.

I used to believe…

Once I finally figured out that sex was a bit more than hugging and kissing, I thought that you could only have sex doggie-style! I was flipping through channels one night and went past a movie in which two people were having sex (I still remember, it was Campfire Tales) in the doggie position and I thought that was the only way to have sex. Much later when I heard someone make a sexual reference to being "flat on her back" I was confused as hell.

In my defense, the sex ed at my middle school was awful. The "nurse" said that once a girl started getting her period, she could get pregnant from coming into "close contact" with a boy. She didn't explain to us 5th graders just how close that contact had to be. For the longest time I wouldn't hang out with any of my guy friends because I thought they'd get me pregnant if I sat too close to them!

when i was in first grade, my twin sister came up to me and asked, "do you know what sex is?" i said no and she said "it's when two adults take off all their clothes, get into bed and start kissing. they need to be under the covers too..." i was disgusted, and for the longest time i thought that was the only way to have sex. exactly as she said, you had to be naked, under the covers, and all you do is kiss the entire time.

I used to believe it was impossible to have a baby unless you were married.

I used to believe…

When I was a child my grandma got cancer in her breast, so she was supposed to go to a hospital spacialized in ginecology. My mother and I were at the hospital and I asked my mother exactly where was my grandma and she said she was in ginecology. I must have had 5 years old, so the word sounded totally strange, so I asked my mother what was that and she said - It's the place where mummies have babies- so, I understood my grannie was going to have a baby!!!

when i was younger, i used to believe that 'testicles' were tentacles, so one day at school, our teacher asked what do you call the legs of an octopus, and i embarassly put up my hand and said, "testicles miss".

I used to believe that girls got pregnant by using the same wash cloth as a man. If the man had washed his "private parts" with the wash cloth & a lady washed HERS w/ the same wash cloth - BAM! You'd be pregnant. I always made sure to never touch my brother or dads wash cloth in the shower!

I used to believe that tampons were diapers for girls because they can't control when they pee...

I used to believe…

When i was about 7, i was a really big rocky horror picture show fan. I knew that if you've never seen the rocky horror picture show live you were considered a virgin, so i thought that this was the actual definition of the word. A virgin was someone who never saw that movie live. I even told my Aunt that she was a virgin because of it. Thinking back it does explain her reaction of utter confusion...

one day I caught my dad in the kitchen wearing noting but his underwear. back then they didn't wear boxers so he was in his briefs which of course meant to a kid that daddy must have something in his shorts cause you couldn't see that when he was wearing pants. I looked at my mom and said...look mommy daddy pooped his pants.

when I was 13 one of my guy friends asked if it hurts to take off your pad..meaning sanitary pad. I wondered why on earth he thought it would hurt and he explained that it must hurt to tear the sticky side off your crotch. we had a good laugh and had to explain to our buddy that we don't stick it to our own skin but it actually sticks to the underwear. it was an enlightening moment for him that day. lol.

My mom has a heavy period and doesn't wear tampons because it would still leak to her pants.
Anyway, one day my day asked me, why doesn't she just very tampons? Wouldn't they just plug it up?

Yes. He thought that tampons actually plug up your vagina and stop any blood getting out. He was stumped when I asked him how he thought all the blood went away.
