In 1st grade I found a pad in our bathroom and, very confused, asked my mom what it was. She sat me down for the long, detailed "your body and puberty" talk, in which she told me all about what would happen on my "special day".
Unfortunately, she wasn't very clear. For YEARS afterward I was convinced that 'Period Day' was a secret holiday every month that every woman would get her period. There'd be balloons and cake and presents, and everyone would have a grand time. We would even get the day off of school!
Needless to say, I was horribly disappointed later when I found out that the only presents I'd be getting would be gross panties, headaches and cramps.
Some holiday that turned out to be.
I used to think that having sex meant leaving your penis inside a woman's vagina overnight and peeing in your sleep.

When I was about five, my mother told me that a brothel was a place where prostitutes made soup. It took me years to catch on.

Until I was 9, I was absolutely convinced that I had a penis [I'm a girl]. Now, I had seen naked babies before, so I knew that mine wasn't in my crotch. I thought I had a secret, hidden penis somewhere, and if I could just find it I'd be able to play with the boys and not be laughed at.
I could never understand why people would laugh so hard when I told them that I DID have a penis, I just lost it and needed to find it again! After all, they were girls and so had secret penises, too- they obviously just weren't looking hard enough!
I used to think that 'Fellatio' was one of the characters in one of Shakespeare's plays. I think it was Romeo and Juliet. I was so confused why he would put such a dirty name in one of his plays.
I thought for the longest time that you could get pregnant from french kissing somehow. I was scared to death the first time I had a boyfriend and he kissed me that I would be pregnant! I went home and cried that day.
Thanks a lot, Sims games.

Having bugged my mum on a really long car drive for about an hour on how ladies got pregnant she snapped and yelled 'Becuase a man puts his penis in her vagina!'. Being very young I didn't know about erections, but i did know that the vagina was hidden away between the legs so I came to the horrific conclusion that the man and woman's legs had to be broken so that the penis could get at the vagina! I wondered why anyone would go through that to have a child.

When I was little, instead of getting the 'sex talk' my mum gave me a brief overview and then gave me a book on the subject. I read the word vagina as 'virginia' and for many years I felt very sorry for girls called that because it was a supposedly 'dirty' word (I was a very puritanical little kid).
Years later I found out the real way of pronouncing vagina, but when I was about eleven in a class presentation on sex for some reason I mispronounced it again as Virginia. Took me a long time to live that one down...

When I was young, some of my cousin's were teasing me about one of my friends who were a girl. They said do u have sex with her at midnight? So i thought it was a tease word. So at the car, i asked my parents that question, and got into big trouble

When I was four my mother had an ectopic pregnancy. My parents were explaining to me what was going on and they told me that, "The baby is stuck in the tube leading to where the baby is supposed to grow." Well, savvy little 4-year-old that I was, I knew darn well that babies grew in the tummy. I further knew that the esophagus (although I likely didn't know the word) was the tube that lead to the tummy. For years I thought the baby had been lodged in my mother's throat.

When I was a little girl I thought babies came from your belly button. There was no other logical explanation for having one in my opinion, and they did grow in your tummy. I said it matter of factly at the dinner table one day in conversation as if it was common knowledge and got quite a funny reaction from my family. My reaction to them correcting me was even more hilarious.
I used to think that you were a virgin if you had never spilt any food on your trousers
So when I split ketchup on myself at christmas I said "Oh damn I 'm not a virgin any more"
My grandparents were there
I was told what it really was later that day

When I was little I read a jokebook talking about a blowjob.
I didn't ask what a blowjob was until a year after that.
I thought it was when the woman blew on a guy's penus.
i used to believe that the term "sleeping together" really meant that they slept together, as in fell asleep at the same time and that's how women got pregnant, I could never figure out how the whole penis in vagina thing worked while you were snoring away...

At 10, we had the "period and puberty" talk from a health visitor at school. She was quite an old person and told us lots of things wrong. Like she said sanitary towels were the only option and there was nothing else we could use so we couldnt do any sport or go swimming during our period. And that we were never allowed to tell the lads in our class anything that she told us. I ended up with a lot of false information after that,

I used to believe that your tummy button was the hole where you put a key to open the door to get the babies out.
