I used to believe…

When I was a child, I was certain that to become pregnant a man and woman had to go to a hospital and be assisted by a doctor. I was fuzzy on what exactly the doctor did but I was sure one had to be involved. When I later found out that a man could get a woman pregnant anywhere they wanted, without medical supervision, I was pretty upset. It seemed way too unregulated. I'm okay with it now, though.

I thougt that 9 months was the time most people needed to get everything they needed for a baby and if you were organized earlier you could have your baby earlier

When I was about 9 or 10 (30 years ago), I happened to see an article in the paper about a 10 year old girl that had given birth to a baby girl. I took the paper to my mother and asked her how did this girl have a baby. My mom, being very religious, told me that the girl had done something bad. A couple of weeks later, I had told my mother a lie. I starting thinking about what my mother said about the girl who had the baby. I was so afraid that, since I had done something bad, that I was going to get pregnant - and my mother would find out that I lied. I tried very hard not to do anything bad after that experience.

i used to believe that when i put a tampon the plastic was supposed to stay on. this was around the time the "pearl girl" phase of tampons first came out, and i remember being in violent pain every time i used one. I dont know how, but i even got the stick part of the applicator in therre!

I believed that when a baby was born, he could remember his prior life and his time in Heaven in detail but he couldn't tell anyone about it due to lack of communication skills. As he learned to speak the language of his parents, he gradually forgot all of the previous information that would've answered all of the secrets of life.

When I was in junior high "blowjob" sounded like "brake job" to me so I assumed the term referred to some form of car repair.

When i was little my mom told me that God put a baby in mommys tummy, so i thought that you would have to pray to God and ask him for a baby and he would put one in there... . i always wondered what daddy had to do with it.

My brother and sister are two years apart, my sister being eldest.
When my brother was being potty-trained, he could not understand why my sister had a much easier time of it.
one of these times [which they are teased mercilessly for] my sister patted my brother on the back and assured him.
"Don't worry, it'll fall off someday. Mine did!"

One day I overheard my mum and my friends mum talking about when we were born and how much we weighed (I was 8 pounds, she was 6). Because the money in the UK is in pounds too, I thought that you had to pay to pick your baby up from the hospital and for years I thought that my mum and dad must love me more than hers did because they paid more for me.

I grew up a tomboy, surrounded by mostly guy friends. One day in middle school, I got hit in the crotch by something and I exclaimed, "Ow! Right in the nuts!" My mom had to explain to me (after she stopped laughing and could breathe again) that I didn't HAVE nuts.

I used to think women got pregnant randomly, I didnt know you actually had to have sex(ect ect), to become pregnant, so I was always scared I would get pregnant and then I learned in grade 7 health class what really goes down.

i used to believe that when a woman has a baby it came out of her bellybutton. My mother told me that when the baby was ready the nurse would press really hard on the mothers stomach and the baby would pop out. How mortifies was I when my younger cousin (of three years) said 'No they don't they come out of here' (pointing smartly at the said area) I began to cry!!!

I thought for a long time that a women could only get pregnant if she was married. I was so confused when my unmarried cousin gave birth to a baby girl when I was 11. I remember lying awake for ages thinking about how that could possible

Up until about the age of 17 (I'm 19 now), I thought Oral Sex was just a man and a women talking about having Sex. I think this stemmed from the fact that we had Spanish and French Oral Exams in School where you'd have to talk in that language!!!

I never knew about the sex making babies thing, so I thought a woman just became randomly pregnent. When I was 6, everytime I pooed i checked the toilet to see if a baby came out!

I use to believe that babies came out of a mothers butt. Thus, I thought African Americans came to be when the nurse refused to wash off the baby.
