I used to believe that you could choose the sex of your child because of what a classmate told me in the fifth grade.
I thought that if you wanted a boy, a man inserted his penis in a woman's vagina. If you wanted a girl, a man would insert his penis in a woman's anus. And that if a man urinated into a woman's vagina this would create conjoined twins.
I was a gullible 11-year old
I used to think babies were made by just lying down naked in your bed.
Then you wake up and God puts a baby in your belly.
I used to believe you could get pregnant by french kissing someone.
I used to believe that you got pregnant by seeing someone kiss and dance together. After watching a Madonna music video I secretly cried myself to sleep every night for a week thinking I was pregnant.
I used to think the "merital act" was a complex ritual that couples in lab coats did to get babies. I wasn't entirely off, since my idea of it was based on textbooks, and a Catholic documentary about embryonic stem cells.
I must've had some twisted thoughts about sex as a kid. One day when I was around 7 or 8 my brother who is three years younger fell on top of me (we were both fully clothed). I was scared for weeks I'd get pregnant.
When I was about 8 or 9 i believed that the only way to get pregnant was if i guy and a girl had sex about 3 times, after the 3rd time she would get pregnant. the first and second times were only practice runs to make sure you could do it right.
Man...I really wish it was like.
I used to think that you would become pregnant from touching a boy. I thought having cooties ment having the power to make someone pregnant, short!
When i was little i asked my mum how you get pregnant. SHe didnt want to tell me so she sed it just happens at the right time, for ages i was scared that i was suddenly going to get pregnant! i was so scared!
i used to believe that women get pregnant when they sleep right next to a man, literally, as opposed to the term, "I slept with him."
I used to believe you could get pregnant at anytime once you were over 18, and you would automatically get pregnant and getting pregnant was something that your body chose, and it your body would choose when you would get pregnant and plant a seed inside your belly.
I used to believe that if you wanted a baby that you went to the doctor and he gave you a pill and that somehow the pill would grow inside your belly to be a baby.
i used to believe that when you grow up you can have sex as much as you want and you will only get pregnant if you wanted to
In fifth grade, I walked by this guy on a bus, and we had to squeeze past eachother face-to-face and so our bodies touched. After that, it look like my stomach was getting bigger, so I thought I was pregnant.
I used to believe that if an adult woman ate a bunch of food she would get pregnant. That always explained to me why they got so fat while they were pregnant.
When I was little, I beleived that after a certain age if a woman slept in the same bed as a man, she would regularly get pregnant. About every two years or so. So when my cousin told me that her mom took a pill to make the babies stop coming, I thought there's no way some little pill is going to keep a baby from popping out!
I used to believe that in order to make a baby, the mutual exchange of urine between both partners into their respective genitals was necessary.
When I was little, thanks to a children's book illustration, I thought that if a male and a female sat too close to each other, they would eventually have a baby. That was my explanation for how people unintentionally had children. This scared me, and I would not sit too close to a boy until I found out the truth.
I realized that this belief was not true when me and my older sister were watching the Lion King. At one point, when Nala and Simba were standing close to each other, I said to my sister, "Uh oh! They better not stand too close!" My sister asked me why, and I said, "Because they might accidentally have a baby, that's why!" My sister explained that that was not how someone had a baby.
I didn't find out how someone could have a baby until I was much older.
Pregnant Women... How did the babies get inside their bellies? I never needed explanations from my parents 'cause I used to think that the babies were the result of too much food eaten by women at once. I mean... if a woman eats too much at once, her stomach wouldn't digest all that stuff and then... Baby! Just like The Spontaneous Generation Theory says.
I used to think that you had to be married to get pregnant, and thought some strange "pregnant ray" came down from the wedding ring and put a baby in the mother's stomach.
