My brother believes that in order to give birth, her leg has to be lifted into the air then pushed back behind her head. The baby then pops right out.

I used to believe that babies would come out of women's behinds - it seemed far more suitable for that purpose than the the hole they use for peeing.

It wasn't until 5th grade that I learned the truth.

When I was little, I thought you had to sign a form to have a baby delivered. I thought that babies were really carried to the mum's by a bird, that the mum pressed her belly button when the baby was ready.

I used to believe that all births were C-section and all mid-wives had the expertise to perform a C-section.
Also believed that women gave birth to boys while men gave birth to girls.(Balance in nature) Weird ??

I was born by C-Section, and I had always known how that worked, so assumed that all babies were born by C-Section. When I was 5, my friend's little sister was born (vaginally) I wanted to go and watch so I could watch because I wanted to see her mom's insides.

When I was born my mother had to have a c-section. For years I didn't know what c-section was. I remember one day I saw her scar on her stomach. I thought the only way for the baby to come out was the doctor had to cut the mommy's stomach open and take the baby out.

In sixth grade somehow the topic of babies came up. My teacher was saying something about how the father had to catch the baby when a boy named Ralph raised his hand.

"Yes?" Said the teacher.

"Why does the dad have to catch it?"

The teacher looked at him kind of puzzed for a moment, and before he could answer Ralph continued--

"Does it shoot out like a football or something?"

When I was three years old my mom was pregnant. The doctor and everyone thought the baby was going to be a boy. But my mom gave birth to a girl. When I heard that I said "Well, it can still be a boy."

When I was little I used to believe that when a lady was ready to have her baby that it came out of her mouth! Then I thought, well hey, it must have been easy for my mom because she has a big mouth!

I use to think taht anyone could get pregnant and have a baby. So one day I decided that my mom gave birth to my dad and my dad gave birth to my sister, my sister gave birth to my brother (even though he was the oldest), and my brother gave birth to me. It made me happy to think my brother was my life giver... But thinking back.. That bit is VERY scary.

I was three at the time my sister was born and therefore years later my mother's pregnancy became quite fuzzy to me. In the third grade my teacher started talking about how sometimes doctors have to cut open a mommy's stomach to get the baby out. This combined with distant memories of my mother being in a room with jelly on her stomach (like when you get an ultrasound), I believed that they cut my baby sister out of my mother's stomach and rubbed magic jelly on her so it would heal without stitches...

I used to believe that when a woman had a baby the doctor had to use the needle from a safety pin to poke holes in her nipples in order for her to breast feed the new baby.
