I used to believe that ALL babies had to be cut out of their mommies tummies (like a C-section), and was terrified to have children because I didn't want to have my tummy cut open.

I happened to be very very shy about sex even being a boy. A friend of mine explained the whole "process" to me when i was half way through my teens, 16. Still, I ended up having the concept that babies were born from "behind". I always thought that girls were the most courageous of creatures to give birth to large babies, when I used to ..err.. shit!!

I'd always heard about the "miracle" of birth. Being raised strict Roman Catholic I knew what he church considered miracles. I therefore assumed that a baby magically passed thru the mothers stomach wall into the world at birth. When I saw a film of an actual birth I was really upset about it. I thought it was the most awful thing I had ever witnessed and wondered how anyone would refer to the event as a "miracle"

when I was about three, my mom went into hospital to give birth to my new baby sister. she had a cesarian birth and due to the scar i believed that the new baby had bit her belly when she'd come out!!! I went round telling everyone i hated the new baby cuz of this, poor thing didnt even have teeth!

i used to believe that babies came from he stalk. being quite interested by the idea of a giant bird brining a baby, i excitedly waited outside in the middle of the night when i found out my mum was pregnany. how disappoinyed i was when i saw the video of her in labor later on!! where was the big bird??

I used to believe that babies came from an open door in your tummy...literally! My mother told me that once and it wasn't until sex ed that I found out it wasn't true. I remember feeling indignant about the truth! *laughs*

When I was heavily pregnant with my son, my little cousin Callum asked me " when the baby's finished sleeping will you have to poo it out?" Guess he wasn't far wrong... eeeuuuwww!

When my friend was younger, she asked her (prudish) mother where she'd come from and was told "you came from a hole in my bottom". She assumed this meant she'd actually walked out of a big hole in one of her mother's arse-cheeks, and told me all about it the next day at school. I was really confused, because I had a "where babies come from" book which told it straight, but I always thought she was cleverer than me, so I was totally lost for a few years!

First excuse me for making mistakes, English is not my language. I used to believe that baby's were born by opening the mother's belly button. As a child, is used to think that the doctor just had to take the baby out and then had to make a belly button -knot again.

So relieved to find out other people thought that babies came out belly buttons!!! When my 8 year old nephew found out I had had a c-section, he thought they made a big round cut and lifted off the top of your belly like a saucepan lid. Ouch!

When i was 5 I witnessed the birth of my dog's puppies and asked my mom where babies came from and how they got out of their mommies. She told me they came out like when you go for a poo. I was horrified that no-one had told me this before, think of all the poos I had flushed away without checking for babies!! From then on I always checked for babies after going to the loo, up until about the age of 12.
