When my brother was younger, he used to think that babies grew in a woman's bladder and that she would just pee her baby out into the toilet.
When he got a little older, he though that babies grew in a woman's stomach and she would vomit her baby up.
when i was around grade 4 (or below), i used to believe that babies were born from their mum's belly that they just popped from the belly button when it's time.
I used to believe that babies are being born through a little hole between the bellybutton and the genitals, and that later the doctor stitches it. It was also only at the age of 10 I first heard about a thing called "period" and "masturbation". I remember I asked my mother what is it and when she started to answer me I got so embarrassed and said "Okay okay I get it!" before she even succeeded to complete her explanation.
I used to think babies came out of a woman's bottom, and can still remember asking my mum about it. She put me right and told me about the "front bottom". I would have been 11 or so at the time, quite naive for my age
Until I was 6 or 7, I was convinced that babie's came out of their mother's butt. For a couple years after that, I was under the impression that their was 3 small round holes on the female anatomy, each having it own individual purpose...
When i was little my mom told me that having a baby was like "pooping out a bowling ball" so for years i thought babies came out the butt. eww
I guess my parents were to shy or thought I was to young to know where babies really came from. So up until grade 5 I believed babies came out of your bum :S how embarassing!
when i was about 4, i thought women give birth to girls while men give birth to boys.
I used to think that when someone had a baby the doctors ripped it out of your stomach and if you had a seasection that made you sit on a toilet and crap it out
I used to think that when a woman was having a baby, they had to cut her stomach open to get the baby out.
I used to believe that you gave birth while you were sleeping. One day, you just woke up and a baby would be next to you.
My friend used to believe that kids came out of women's butts...One time in Year 5 (9-10 years old) we asked the teacher and my friend got a mighty big surprise...
when I was a kid I used to believe that men gives birth to boys and women gives birth to girls... until the mystery was solved by my parents when I was 10 year old.
I used to believe, when my mom told me babies came out of mothers' stomachs, that their pregnant tummies lifted open, just like the hood of a car. It made sense to a 5 year old me.
When I saw scenes on t.v. where a woman would give birth (not graphic scenes- just hear the woman scream and a doctor would be there and then suddenly the doctor would be holding a baby) I thought the baby actually came out of the woman's stomach, I think one time I asked my mom how the doctor could get the baby out of the woman's stomach. She didn't really answer!
I was delivered by C-section and my mom told me that they to cut her open to get me out and I used to think that's how all babies were born as in you had to cut the mother open to get them out!
As a young boy, I had a "vague" concept of the female anatomy, but I knew that babies had to come out somewhere. I originally guessed this was in the chest area, but after I learned after bikinis, rib cages, and where it actually is, I corrected myself. This frequently made me wonder what the big deal was with female legs since I thought "But there's nothing down there!"
I am 6 years older than my brother. When he was born, my mother had him Cesearean and I thought that all babies were born that way.
When she tried to correct me and told me that she had to have the C-section because my brother could not fit the 'normal' way, well, logic told me that he could not fit through her belly button then because where else could the baby come out? After all, all babys are created in the mothers STOMACH.
I used to believe that babies were delivered through your belly button. I thought the belly button opened up something like a flower and the baby would slide right out. If only it were that easy!
When we were little, my sister always wondered how women had babies. I would just tell her that they came out of mommy, just like she did.
A few weeks ago, she finally admitted to thinking that a mommy un-velcroed her stomach and just pulled the baby out once her belly button had popped out. (That was the sign of the baby being ready to come out.)
Now that she's older, she finally knows the difference. haha.
