I believed that children were born from a hole between a woman's breasts. I thought the hole appeared over time, which was why I didn't have one.

I once saw a film where a had came out of a guys shoulder.

I was sure that this is how babies where born, and this belief was reinforced when I was at my friends house, whose mum was a nurse, and she had a strange yellow pointy stick think in a drawer. I still have no idea what the hell it was, but I thought at the time that the yellow pointy stick was used to cut a circle out of whoever was having the babies upper back/shoulder area, and then the baby would be pulled out. I believed this for years, until it slowly dawned on me that there was rather more to it than that...

Like a lot of other kids I believed that babies were either brought by a stork or purchased from a special baby market.
I talked to a fully pregnant lady when I was about 6 and was a little shocked that a full-size baby would live in someone's belly like that.

My 6 year old cousin was watching TV when our nana left the room, and I went to the bathroom. When I came back, my cousin was in the kitchen telling nana that people were pulling a baby out of a woman's butt. She had changed the channel to TLC, and A Baby Story was on. Needless to say, nana was confused.

I used to believe that babies came out of belly buttons until I was told differently in my 9th grade health class.

When I was around 12-13 years old (old enough to know better) and discussing childbirth with my friend and her older teenage sisters, I revealed that all babies were delivered by cutting open the stomach. I was astounding to learn that babies were usually delivered vaginally. I was totally revolted by the idea, and my friend and the others teased me terribly because of my ignorance and embarrassment.

First excuse me for making mistakes, English is not my language. I used to believe that baby's were born by opening the mother's belly button. As a child, is used to think that the doctor just had to take the baby out and then had to make a belly button -knot again.

When I was four my mom was pregnant with my brother. I asked how the baby would get out of her belly. She was going to have a C-section, so she said the doctors would open her belly like a zipper and take the baby out. She also explained that other babies came out of their mommy's "bottom". So, for years, I thought babies were pooped out.

I was a very modest little girl but knew where the babies came out. That wasnt nearly as horrifying to me as much as the thought that everyone saw me naked coming out. So I was of the belief that babies came out already clean & wrapped in a blanket, like, straight out of there! And I was so embarassed to find out I was indeed naked!!

My dad used to tell me that when mom was pregnant with me, she used to eat noodle soup every night and she ate so much of it I was born with a noodle on my head. When I was little, I used to introduce myself saying, "Hi. My name is _____ and I was born with a noodle on my head!" It made sense - since babies came out of their mommy's tummy!
