When I was a child I used to believe that the spot lights in the sky were the police that were trying to find bad children.

When i was 5-6 my mum and dad told me that if i didnt turn off my bedroom light when it was empty, the bedroom light police would arrest me.
Then 1 night the phone rang and i answered it and the people on the other end said they were the bedroom light police giving me a warning.
I realise now it was my dad on his mobile.

When I was little I heard my mom talking about someone "being behind bars" which means they are in jail.. Well.. I thought that it meant that they hung around behind bars.. Like where you go to get drunk.. Yeah I wasn't very bright!

I used to believe when i was 6-8 years old that the criminals in the prison ate spiders with bread, i think why my father told me that so i was scared to go into prison .. Now i can laugh about it

I used to think cerial killers were cereal makers that hated their jobs so they bought boxes of cereal and stabed it untill the box could not hold the cereal at all. then they crushed the cereal unto little crumbs.

untill I was 9 I use to watch FBI most wanted and whenever I heard cerial killer I think poor cereal then go up to my mom and ask to go to the store and check if the cereal is still ok...........wow

when I was 8 or9 I thought that you could only move to 3 houses or then you would get in big truble!!!

When I was a kid used to think that if I tore the tag off of the pillow the police were going to immediately come to my house, arrest me, and put me in jail.

when i was first going to school when i was six one day i said i didnt want to go my mother than said if you dont go for even 1 day the police come to your door and take you to jail for the rest of your life i actually believed this for a about 4 years!

when i was about 6 my older sisters told me if you get too close to a car,and the siren went off,a bunch of police robots would come and eletricute you and bring you to jail.i actually believed them.

I used to believe that drinking and driving laws applied to all drinks.

I severely scolded my dad one day for drinking a Coca-Cola while he was driving the car out to my grandparents' place.

When I was growing up, they had just introduced the V-chip. Since I would always watch Nickelodeon, it was only Y and Y7. Since I was 7 at the time, I thought that it was illegal to watch Y7 shows if you were under 7. So whenever shows like "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" would come on, I'd kick my younger sister out of the room and tell her "You have to get out of the room! It's Y7! You're not allowed to watch it! It's the law!"

When I was a kid, around 4 or 5, I believed it was the law that people had to move once every year. That's how often we moved when I was a child.

When I was around 10-12 years old, my best friend [who is also my cousin] let me know what rape was when I asked. She said "rape is when you grab a person by the sleeve of their shirt and make them have sex with you." i said "they have to grab your sleeve?" and she said "yes! they must grab the sleeve or else it's not really rape." ahahhahahhahahahhhahhahahhahahhahhahahhhahahahhhahahahaha. i find it funny when i think of how i believed that.

When I was 2, I stole candy from a drugstore and of course, I didn't know what I was doing so my parents weren't mad. When I was 6, my parents told me about. I was terrified of going to jail and I couldn't sleep for months!

I searched these boards and I think this one would be categorized under "police."

There was (and still is) a tag attached to pillows and mattresses:

DO NOT REMOVE UNDER PENALTY OF THE LAW....

and it's got some other gibberish after that.

One day when I was four, I tore the tag off the mattress.

I waited in fear for cops to come.

I thought somehow there would be some sort of "signal" that let authorities know that SOMEBODY did indeed remove THE TAG under PENALTY OF THE LAW....

But no cops came.

I threw the tag away in the garbage and hoped I wouldn't get into trouble! HEE!

When I was about 6 years old, I pulled the tag off a matress that says "Do Not Remove Under Penalty of Law." I believed that the police were going to come to my house and arrest me, so I hid in my room all day.

My mum was prescribed steriods by the doctor. Then our teacher tlod us about drugs and ll the different kinds. I was affraid that they would lock my mum up so I told her that we had to run away to americia

On a Sunday when I was about 5 my Granda and I would go out walking and I would pick flowers to take back to my gran. After a while my Granda told me that the police had placed tiny cameras in the flowers, they would beam back the picture of the person picking the flowers and they'd be arrested for stealing. I've never picked another flower since!

When i was in kindergarten, we had a class on drugs every Tuesday (well by drugs they ment taking medicine when you weren't supposed to. Later that year I spent the night at my grandma's and we went to Fannie Farmer's (the candy store). To me famer sounded like pharmacy and I thought we were going to buy illeagal drugs. I was so scared until we got in there. Then I was happy!
