The cops would frequently stop our car and give my dad "tickets". When I was young, I thought they were tickets to the movies or something. So when the cops pulled my dad over, I would ask my dad what show we got tickets, too.

When I was a child, I thought "prosecuted" meant "executed". I'd go exploring with my dad or brother in "no trespassing" areas with "Violators will be Prosecuted" signs around. It was terrifying for me!

When I was about four years old, I was watching the show "Cops" on T.V. My older cousin, how was about 17, told me that bad kids went to "kids jail". I had a picture in my mind that in this kids jail, kids were given lots of cool and fun toys to play with. I think I got this idea from a dream I once had. Anyways, I believed this for about two years.

I used to believe that speeding tickets were tickets to Chuckie Cheese.I always thought that the policemen would stop drivers to hand them the Chuckie Cheese tickets.

I used to believe that getting Raped was when someone took a rake and beat you with it.

I used to believe that when someone was sentenced to life in prison, it meant that they had to do the amount of years that they had already lived. For the longest time I assumed that this meant if they happened to die during that time, they would keep the corpse in the prison until the fiend's sentence was up.

Ok I moved from my home town to a new town when I was 9 years old and into a trailer park and my bedroom was at the back of the house. My window faced this railroad track that was RIGHT outside our home. All day I thought it was kind of cool that I lived right by a train track, but that night I'm watching the news on my tv cause I couldn't find anything else to watch and I saw this news report about a "train man". Who they said jumped off trains and killed someone and jumped back on the train to the next town. I started crying!!! I bawled all night and couldn't sleep cause I was so sure that the train man would come to our house and kill me since I was right by the tracks. Even after they caught him I thought that there were a whole bunch of "train men" and still had a hard time getting to sleep in that trailer till I was atleast 13 years old!!

I used to think a serial killer (cereal) was somebody who came to your house, and when u held a picture of them in front of them they would melt and if you didn't, they kill you.

i used to belive that when a policeman pulled you up on the side of the road he was going to kidnap all the little children and send them to the Barons castle from Citty Citty Bang Bang. and we would then have to be slaves to the technicians who clean and repaired the flying car

When I was younger, I heard about serial killers on the news. I used to think that serial killers were actually 'cereal killers' and only killed people who ate cereal. And because I was a kid and I ate cereal, like many kids, I used to believe that they would 'get me'. I lived with fear everytime I ate breakfast until I was about 11 when my mom finally cleared things up!

i used to think that a serial killer would eat all the cereal and they would be considered a "cereal killer".. i used to eat it all the time and tell my mom that i was a cereal killer.. she would just look at me weird

I used to think that jaywalking meant walking across the street naked.

When I was a kid I used to think that when someone was raped, that meant that they were attacked by someone with a rake.

i used to think that cereal killers where people who would try to kill careal. until the day i shouted out " HOW CAN YOU KILL CEREAL" while m aunt was watching the news. I was only 6 or 7

I thought "cereal killers" were people that killed others using cereal.

I thought people at fast food joints were idiots for giving the food when they already had the money. I waited for the day they would catch on to what a profit they could make.
