I used to believe…

for some reason i used to think that rapping someone was just hitting them with a rake.......don't ask

When I was about 6 or 7 i though a serial killer was a "ceral" kller that went up stabbed or shot ceral boxes

when i was little, i used to believe that if a guy didn't sit down to pee, he'd be arrested (i thought that bc as a girl, we sit down, everyone else had to or else)

— *shakes head*the law : police

I used to think that if you didnt throw your trash away at mcdonalds, you would get arrested. so one time when i went to eat at mcdonalds with my grandpa, he didnt throw our trash away. i ran out of there as fast as i could so the police couldnt get me!

— Margaret cthe law : police

i told my little brother (he was 7)that if you "ding-dong-ditch" people the cops could track you down and arrest you.
it scared him so much that he wrote a note to the neighbor he offended... saying "sorry about the door ball"

he is 9 and still believes it...

For some utterly bizarre reason, I used to think chewing gum was some kind of drug. When my dad took me with him to the barber shop, the barber always tried to give me a stick of gum...I always let my dad have it. ^_____^

— Mizu-chanthe law : drugs

When I was about 3 or 4, my dad and I got pulled over for not stopping at the stop sign by our house. We managed to pull in to our house, and I watched the cop talk to my dad for a while. Then I went inside and told my mom that daddy was getting arrested!

When I was youger, I was spending the night at my friend betsy's house. We were watching some movie on tv when a special report came on. The reporter said that a serial killer had escaped fromthe county prison. Living pretty close to the prison, we both got scared and ran to the kitchen pantry. "..Quick get the cheereos I got the fruit loops!" We ran to her room holding boxes of cereal and ramming them under her bed.(Get it..Serial..Cereal killer)

Admittedly, I never knew much about drugs until I was about 11 or 12, so when the Acid House thing was about I thought nothing of going around screaming "aciiid" - it seemed so innocent, especially with that smiley face everywhere.

when i was little, i thought that a con artist was a person that painted pictures of people commiting crimes

when i was little i used it think if something bad happened... like a murder or bankrobbery... that it was me sleep walking and i just didnt remember it, and that they would catch me sooner or later... i got very nervous when the phone would ring thinking the cops were questioning my mother about where i was that night n stuff....

now that i think about it i was a very paranoid child :-P

A long time ago my mother took me to see Ollie and Optie (a program that taught kids to be "safe"). The speaker told a story of a psycho killer who had kidnapped a little girl. When her parents where home. On the same floor. She described it in such detail that I thought that he could get me too, so I wouldn't go into my room and would constantly follow my mom around. So, basically it had a reverse effect. Bleh.

— Mochi (Rice Cake)the law : criminals

My older sister told me that if I sat on a white bench at the mall the police would come and arrest me. I believed her for several years and once she pulled me onto it and i started crying because i thought the police would come and take me away

I used to think that the crime scene was the same place for all crimes. I always wondered why people would keep going back to it.

My mom would tell me that if I crossed the road without holding her hand I would go to jail. She told me Taxis were cops too.

My sister used to have two piggy banks.

One was where she kept her allowance money, which was well hidden. The other was filled with 5 pennies and left on her nightstand as a decoy for would-be burgulars!

When the Yorkshire Ripper was still on the loose, I used to think that a prostitute was a woman who was once in jail.

Wish this one was mine... my girlfriend was working in a daycare, where they had of course talked in circle time before about not talking to strangers. When you think about it, to a child, "strangers" come across to be a pretty evil bunch.
Later in the year, a police officer came in as a guest speaker. He was asking the kids why they thought he had different parts of his uniform. When he asked why he had a gun, one kid immediately blurted out, "To shoot strangers!"

i used to believe that when you saw someone killed on t.v. or in movies that they really died but that it was ok because they were using bad people(criminals) for those scenes and that was how we got rid of them.
