after watching "the wizard of oz" i thought kansas was black and white and the rest of the world was color!

I always saw the Army recruiting booths at the mall and other places, and they confused me to no end. After all, why join the Army if there's no war? Then I thought, "Wait, why join the Army at all? You're probably just gonna be killed!" And so I came up with my own reasons for this...
The Army is a small room, with about 100 people total, all sitting around a tiny table. On the table was a light, and the soldiers would sit there for years, waiting for the "War light" to come on. And when it did, that meant there was a war. At that point, you'd pull a lever on the wall, and the floor would colapse, dropping you into a series of tunnels that somehow lead you right to the war.
I was quite happy with this explanation, until I remembered my original question, "Why do people bother joining the Army?" Well, I assumed that while waiting for years for the War light, you didn't need to sleep, eat, drink, pee, OR poop!

I used to think that the Marc Anthony that is married to Jennifer Lopez, was the same one that was married to Cleopatra.

As a very young child in the early eighties, I had yet to recognized the United States was a relatively safe place to live. Gaining a healthy fear of bombs being dropped from planes from television footage about past wars, I would hide under trees, slides, or whatever else I could find that would shield me from being seen be anyone in a plane that would want to drop a bomb directly on ME. Of course it was completely irrational that anyone would have wanted to drop a bomb on me in particular, nor would I have been protected by a puny tree or playground slide if they had.

like many people here i thought that guerrila warfare involved monkeys. I have a good reason for this though. I was born in the early 90s, so wen i was only about 6 or 7 i saw tarzen, and i got scared out of my mindd when my brother showed me planet of the apes. a couple of weeks later, in a war encylapedia book i read vietnam was a jungle war with guerrila warfare. Since tarzan was in the jungle, i thought wen they shot the monkeys it was jungle guerrila warfare. i also thought in planet of the apes, that since it is in the desert, that is desert guerrila warfare like the persian gulf warfare. it never occured to me of the spelling diffences and the logic

When I was young, I looked at my mums photos of when she was a kid, they were black and white, then i saw some photos of her as a teenager and they were in colour but of a bad quality. I asked why her kid photos were black and white and why the colour photos were not so good. she explained but i didn't understand. So i asked my dad and he told me that the world used to be black and white, and then colour slowly came into the world. i thought that was a resonable answer, lol. until i learn't otherwise.

in my childhood when i used to watch any black and white movie i used to think that the world used to be black and white in real and then later on GOD sent the colours ...:D

There was a storm drain behind my elementary school that looked an awful lot like a cannon when we were in third grade. After seeing it, I believed that Revolutionary War was refought every night behind my school, and that the soldiers kept accidentally forgetting to take the cannon back with them during the day.

When I was very young, I remember my father and his twin brother would swim with my cousins and I and we all would play Marco Polo. Mainly because my dad and uncle played it together I always believed that Marco Polo was two people. Twin brothers, one named Marco and the other was Polo, and that they were always getting lost and separated from one another.

When I was little, I saw some black and white movies. I thought the only colors back then were black and white. I also thought there were only black and white crayons and markers.

When I was very young I thought that "B.C." stood for "Before Cloth." Prior to that time, I imagined everybody was running around wearing animal skins because they didn't know how to weave textiles yet.

When I was in grade school we sang a song about the Erie Canal. I thought the Erie Canal was still in use until I moved to New York at age 24. Now I drive down Erie Boulevard, where it used to be.
