When I was young, my parents watched a lot of TV shows and movies that were black & white. I assumed that when my parents were little, the world was in black and white.
One day I asked my dad what day the world got color, and how he celebrated. He was very confused, but had a good laugh after I explained myself.

The song goes Video killed the radio star, before we had TV the spoken word was magic.
And in a childs mind anything was possible.
After the war the radio was the magic box in the corner, among the best to open the imagination was a program called " Saturday night Theatre ".
In one play based on the war they spoke of the"Guerrlla" attacks.
It was quite some time after it was explained to me that they were not infact "Gorrila's"...
When I used to watched old TV shows in black and white, I actually used to think life was in black and white in the 'olden days'. My dad had to tell me that it was just the cameras that were black and white, and not the whole world.
Always after I had watched a black and white tv show, I thought the world was black and white back when the show was made. My dad supported me in this, telling me how happy he was the day colors were introduced.
when i was a little boy, around 5ish, i asked my grandmother if she was born in the black and white days. she looked puzzled for a moment. she soon realized that i thought that before the Wizard of Oz's colorful transformation scene that everyone had to live their lives in dreary monochromatic tones . . . not just in movie but in actual life. all the footage or photos i saw were in black and white so naturally i thought before 1939 things just lacked colour.
i used to believe that old black and white photos were black and white because the world wasn't in color back then.

I used to believe that the current borders (I'm tlaking about teh current borders according to back when i believed this.) have always been there forever. I was shocked when I first saw an old map that has the U.S.S.R. on it, and again when I saw a map of the ancient Roman Empire. I tried to tell everyone that these maps lied until about age 11.

I used to believe everything was black and white long ago because old-timer movies are black and white.
When I was about 3 years old, I would watch Planet of the Apes movies with my Uncle *a lot*.....
... Then one day I was terribly confused and horrified by the News reporting "Gorilla" warfare. I became terrified to go outside because I believed that it was REAL because the news reported it.

For years when I was younger I used to think the world used to be Black and White - cos my dad used to watch black and white films all the time! Only when my parents explained to me that it was simply the film that whole idea collapsed and I realised how silly it was!
I used to love looking at old photographs as a child and, somehow, in my mind I got the idea that the world was literally gray (black and white). Then, my mother mentioned something about a certain sweater being a particular color and my worldview came crashing down.
i used to belive that coz old photos and films are black and white thought the world used to be black and white
As I grew up, my father would tell me stories of his time in Viet Nam and would preface these stories with "Charlie...". I grew up thinking that one man named "Charlie" gave our US military hell!!!
I used to believe that all wars lasted only 4 years. I mean, think about it! The civil war was 4 yrs long, WWII, 4 yrs for americans... I guess thats pretty much it. I also thought that America had won every war it had ever fought in, and always would.
I used to believe…
