I used to believe that the advent of color movies / television coincided with the discovery of color itself. I thought that the real world was colorless prior to the 1930s.

When I was young and found out about black and white televisions, for years after I believed that the world was actually black and white and then turned colour. I found out about those TV's at primary school and just found out the truth when I was 14...oh the shame Im 18 now and ashamed to admit my mistake, hehe

When I was 5 I used to watch a lot of Nick at Night with all the old My Three Sons, Dick Van Dike, Mister Ed etc. I asked her why they were in black and white and she told me that everything was black and white back then. I there for believed the WHOLE world was in lived in black and white until color tv came out.

I used to believe that the "armory" was the "army" and the war was being fought there. I was afraid to walk on the street where the "armory" was located.

I used to believe that the world was greyscale up until the late 40s. All the movies from before then were black & white (I had seen alot of them, my parents are big marx bros fans)

then one day I asked my dad "Back when the world was black & white, what color was the ocean?"
It was about a year or so before i realized why he was laughing so hard.

I used to believe that until gravity was invented, people used to just float around!

I used to believe the gulf war was fought using exploding golf balls, or at least told people that. I'm not certain if I believed or not. I did think the gulf mentioned was spelt golf, though.

I used to believe that in war it was very controled. I thought that the two armys fighting against eachother would line up and face eachother with only about 6 feet in between them. The governer or some head official would stand on the edge inbetween the 2 armys. He would say to one army "You may shoot" and one person would step forward and shoot someone from the other army. Then the governer would say to the other army "You may shoot" and they would keep taking turns shooting eachother untill all the soldiers on one side where dead. Yes as you can tell i wasnt very smart and i guess im still kind of dumb considering i just a moment ago forgot how to spell dead. hehe

I used to believe that the whole world was black and white, and then one day, the world became multicolored, just like in the wizard of oz.

When I was around 8 or 9 I used to believe that the "Shot Heard 'Round the World" (the first shot in the American Revolution) was the biggest home run ever in baseball.

When my father talked about Cold War, I used to believe that the Cold War was about the soldiers who were fighting in the wintertime and they were frozen to death. Also I thought that the Cold War was just fighting with snowballs.

i used to that the whole world used to be in black and white as the only records of the "past" i ever saw were black and white photos and tv programmes

When I saw black&white pictures of people in the past and stuffes, I thought the whole world was that color, and that the movie 'The Wizard of Oz' brought the world to color.

Okay I know I'm not the onlyone who thought this.Growing up in the early sixties during the Viet Nam War. Everytime I'd hear about guerilla warfare, I always pictured a mean Magill Gorilla or Gorillas swinging down from the trees and causing some sort of harmless cartoon hijinx.

Like in one Calvin and Hobbes comic, my dad told me that the pictures that are black and white are in color, but the WORLD was black and white. A few years later, I went out to a film shop. I was shocked to see black-and-white film there.

Well, I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who thought the whole world was in black and white because all the pictures I'd seen of my parents were in B&W. =)
