I used to believe that the Koreans from the Korean War were big green monsters that I'd probably seen in a comic book that my brother had.
When I was little the gulf war was constantly on TV. I can remember looking at all the tanks and explosions thinking they were taking their game of golf a bit too far! It wasnt until many years later I figured out what it was really about!
When I heard about the sectarian violence in Northern Ireland,I amagined a war between Irish secrataries, hurling ballistic pencils and engaging in hand-to-hand ruler fighting...

Since all the old TV shows and movies were in Black and white....I used to think the world used to be black and white and turned into color sometime recently.
I used to believe that the world used to be in black and white (that was, of course, after seeing old black and white movies!)
My Dad did this one, when I was a little girl I used to ask my Dad what happened to his fingernails to make them so short and ugly he told me that he had fought in the Indian Wars in the 1800's and that the Indians had cut his fingernail off with a tomahawk. (My Dad used to make us watch John Wayne movies all the time so this seemed like somewhat plausible) For years I believed this cause why would my Daddy lie to me.. Then in school we were talking about the Indian Wars and me being me I had to open my big mouth luckily this was still in grade school so no one thought I was too crazy they just told my Dad to stop telling me stories like that.
I used to believe…
having watched a bunch of black and white movies, and seen a bunch of black and white pictures, whitch were obviously old.I concluded that in the old days every thing was only black and white, and those films and pictures were made before color was invented. Color was invented somewhere in the 70's

I used to believe that in the old days it was all sepia or black and white, because thats how all the pictures were.
When I was little my grandpa and I would watch a lot of black and white horror movies ( which I didn't find too scary compared to say, Aliens) and I never understood why old movies where in Black & White. So I asked my grandpa if it was weird living back then when there was no color.
It didn't occure to me that it was just the film, and not everything was black and white a long time ago! After all, all the photos and movies weren't in color.
I believed that guerilla warfare actually involved people fighting guerillas.
And I just learned that guerilla can be spelled with one or two R's.
For a while I refused to go to the drive-in movie theater because I had the idea that wars took place in theaters. (Must have heard something about the various "theaters" in WWII!)
When the Gulf War was on, back in 1991, I thought it would be like World War II, and the Iraqis would come over and bomb us, and I remember once waking up at 2am and was scared to go back to sleep incase we got bombed.
i used to beleive that when i was watching black and white films everyone was actually walking around in a black and white world.i used to ask my grandparents 'what was it like in the black and white days? silly girl.......
When I was in primary school and about 8, I came to the conclusion that Beatrix Potter made the Bayeux Tapestry, because I thought they were spelt similarily and obviously I got confused.

I used to think the olden days came once every couple of years
when i saw old black and white films or pictures, i used to believe that the entire world used to be black and white until they invented a machine to make everything have color
When I was really little (about 3, 4, or 5) my mum watched old television shows such as "Bewitched", "Dick van Dyke", "Mr. Ed", "I Love Lucy" and others.
And all of those programs from the past were all in black-and-white, so I just thought that back then, the world used to be in black-and-white instead of colour.
When I was little I thought those old photos and portraits (Napoleon, etal) with one hand in the front coat lapel meant that they were scratching.
Actually, maybe I was right.
