When I was little I thought that at some point in time they invented color. Because I saw movies of the past and they were in black and white.

I used to believe the world was black and white until they invented color tv's. I used to ask my mom what it was like when they couldn't see anything in color and what it was like when the whole world could finally see in color.

When I was a kid, I watched all of the Planet of the Apes movies. Then, when news reports would come in about Guerillas fighting in Central America, well, I thought they meant real Gorillas.

We had a cannonball in our back garden (I had a strange upbringing), and my brother told me it was the very one that had destroyed the castle at Scarborough, where we would go on holiday each summer. Later, it transpired this was a lie - it came instead from a museum my mum used to run in Dundee, and dates probably from the nineteenth century.

I used to wonder why some movies were in black and white and while others were in color. I came up with the idea that the whole world had only recently develped color and prior to this, the whole world had existed in only black and white colors.

I was around 10 or 11 years old when the Viet Nam War began. When the news commentators talked about the guerillas coming out of the forest I was always amazed that they were able to train guerillas to actually fight in wars.

When I was a kid, I used to think that when I breathed in air, I was breathing in some of the same molecules that had been breathed by famous people in history. Like Moses, Jesus, Einstein. As an adult, I found out that this is actually true; I read a book by Carl Sagan that said that, statistcally speaking, with every breath we breath in some of the air molecules of famous historical figures that have lived and breathed in the past! Who knew?

My grandfather once received a mysterious telephone call. "who was that?" my grandmother asked when he had hung up.
"Oh, that was Bonnie Prince Charlie," replied my grandfather. "He called to invite me to his wedding."
I pestered Grandpa for the next several weeks asking when he was going to the wedding.

i used to believe that in these days when black and white films were made they didn't have color and that colors in general were invented lateron. i always felt sorry for all these people living in a world without colors.

During the Vietnam war, I had this belief that it could be brought to an end so simply. All the President had to do was stand up on a pedestal in the middle of the front line and just wave his hands and tell them to stop fighting. It would be over just like that.

when I was a kid I thought the world was black n white at one time, because of black n white pictures. I was raised in the deep South. I assumed that the South won the Civil War. It was presented to us as a glorious fight and all the Civil War battles that we enacted as little boys featured glorious Confederates vrs. the cowardly yankees. When I was ten, my cousins from Wisconsin were visiting and made me look up The Civil War in The World Book. Finding out the actual outcome, I was devistated.
