When I was little I thought everything from the early 20th century was in black and white like literally if I traveled back in time everything the people the cars the stores would all be b&w.

When I was young I would see old shows like "I love Lucy" and "The Beverly Hillbilly's" and thought that back then the world was black and white and color wasn't invented yet.

I used to believe that on a battlefield there was a huge wall separating the two sides. Each side would throw over bombs and grenades. The only contact that they had was one message carrier who traveled through a little door in the wall/

My older brother told me that Napoleon was made up to piece history together. I believed this for years. Whenever Napoleon came up during my school studies, I would grin and think, "Fools you do not know the truth!"

When I was a kid, I believed that the 1950s and earlier were ACTUALLY black and white, in real life, because that's what I saw on TV.

When I was little, my mom watched alot of balck and white films. I thought that the world was actually black and white back in the 20's!

At some celebration commemorating the end of WWII when I was about 4 or 5 we had a street party. I was very proud of my grandfather who had driven tanks in the war, and half way through the dinner I stood on the table and shouted as loud as I could, 'EVERYBODY! My Grandad won the War!'

After seeing old black and white photos of the family, I used to think that the world used to be in black and white. I accepted this as fact and went on my merry way for several years. I only found out that the world was always in colour when I asked my mom what year the colour came! She was so confused.

When I was young we learned in school about how the atomic bomb was dropped on Japan and the kind of horrible suffering it caused. Somehow I missed the facts that A. America (my country) had done the bombing and B. World War II was over. I used to lay awake at night convinced a bomb was going to come through my ceiling and kill me.

When I was little, I believed that before color television, the world was in black and white.

When I was little, I used to belive that the world just appeared the way it was. I thought the world was created with cars littering the highway, a president, and a guy returning clothes to Old Navy.

When my sister and I were little, there was a stretch of road where a section of a hill had been blown away. The hill was somewhat rough because the hill was recently blown up, very steep and made of loose dirt so not much could grow.

One day my sister asked why the hill looked like that and I replied because the last battle of the civil war blew apart the hill and to remember the battle, the road was built.

My sister believed that until she studied the civil war. Her teacher asked where the last battle of the civil war took place and she replied 'Ohio near 270'. Her teacher had a hard time convincing her otherwise.

We still laugh about that today, I'm 22 and she's 20.
