I used to think that color wasn't invented until the 1970's. All our old family photos were in black and white and old tv shows were not in color, so I just assumed that there were no colors back then...

I used to believe (no doubt due to my love of The Wizard of Oz) that the world used to be in black and white and just eventually turned to color. That is why older movies and tv were all in black and white and why poor Dorothy had such a shock at entering a place already turned to color.

I used to believe the world used to be black and white until very recently due to old photos and old movies showing me a glimpse before colored footage.

I used to believe B.C. stood for "Before Cowboys" because I heard it on a cartoon and my dad let me continue to believe it because he thought it was funny. I didn't learn any better until 4th or 5th grade.

I used to believe that black and white movies were made before color was invented. I thought eveything was in black and white untill color was discovered in the 60's

My neice asked me when she was five years old what life was like when everything was black and white? I asked her, "Do you mean TV shows and photos?" She looked at me with an odd look and said "Didn't you see everything in black and white?" When I told her I saw in color and only TV shows and photographs were black and white she felt a lot better.

I used to believe Bob Dole was Bob Dylan. In second grade we had a mock election when the 1996 presidential election was happening. So I thought that Bob Dylan was the person running against Bill Clinton. So I voted for Bob Dole thinking I was voting for Bob Dylan. The teacher called my parents wondering why I voted for Bob Dole.

George Washington was the first president and on the $1 bill so naturally I assumed that since Lincoln was on the $5 bill, he was the fifth president

I used to believe that the olden days were black and white when I was about 3 from seing old movies.

When I was about 14, and I heard on the news that guerrillas were attacking villages, I said in front of a big group of family and friends, "Gorillas DO THAT?!". Needless to say, everyone laughed at me.

When I was little (age 5) I wanted to be a paleontologist and I knew people at the museum and they took me to a little sand box and I found some dinosaur bones (chicken bones) and they said to come back in a week. So, I did and they showed me a video of the "dinosaur" (the bones and plaster) coming to life and growing to the size of a Volkswagen Beetle and roaring before being hit by a rock! I was then given the "dinosaur" and a piece of paper with the words "klaatu nixxu barru opim" and they told me it was how to make it come to life. I tried this until I was 8. I'm 12 now.

I used to believe that a war was just one single battle that lasted a few hours at the most. I also thought that all wars were pre-arranged and that all of the countries made their own army and fought in a battlefield about the size of a few football fields.

My daughter asked her grandfather if he used to drive a rusty camel back in the black and white days. She was 5.

I used to think that the past was all in black and white, because of all the old photographs. Like my grandparents were all black and white and gray, and such. I believed that my mom used to be black and white too, until I saw her in colored pictures. Then she explained it to me, and I still think it would be cool if it were black and white. lol

I used to think that when people were talking about the World Wars, they were saying War War I and War War II. I thought the wars were so bad you had to say it twice.

I used to believe that since t.v.'s were in black and white, back then, that everyone saw only black and white in real life...until they came out with color t.v.'s. Then when that was out, that's when everyone saw in color!

When I heard over the radio about Guerrilla Warfare in other countries. I believed gorillas were attacking people in their villages!

I once asked my dad what "Soviet Union" is; he replied that it was a horrible country where you couldn't say anything, because you'd be taken to jail immediately.

For a long time, I have been shocked by such an evil country where you had to be silent all the time.
