I believed that the Gettysburg Address was "Daddy's burger dress." Needless to say, that conjured some pretty weird images in my mind.

Before reading Luís Eduardo Anelli's book, I believed there were only dinosaurs in North America and Africa, now I know that they lived on all continents.

I thought that the Titanic rammed into the iceberg on purpose, as I thought they figured the ship was so tough it would just plow through it unharmed. I didn't learn the truth till a few years ago. I think I thought this because of how much they bragged about it being unsinkable

Before learning about the Cold War, I thought that the space race was actually two spaceships, one from America amd one from Russia, that launched at the same time to see which one would get to the moon fastest.

I used to believe that Clint Eastwood actually lived in the old west, but I also knew that he was still alive in the present day (this was around 2009 or so), so you can imagine how old he must've been if that was the case. I probably believed this because the main place I learned about him from was Back to the Future.

When I was about 10 years old John Lennon was assassinated. I did not know who John Lennon was (though I did know of the rock band, the Beatles). In school we had recently learned about the Russian communist dictator Vladimir Lenin, and that's who I thought had died. I wondered why everyone was so sad about such a bad man dying, and thought maybe he had changed his ways, or maybe he wasn't as bad as the teacher thought. I also thought it was weird that he hadn't died yet. I would have thought he'd died years and years ago.

I got the 1990s and 1900s mixed up, so I thought people wore that fancy old-fashioned garb in the 1990's.

I used to believe that all autobiographies ended in a string of gibberish because I only ever read biographies of dead people so I assumed that an account of the subject's death was a necessary part of a biography and there was no way someone writing an autobiography would be able to get out the full account of their own death before collapsing at their keyboard.

I used to believe that before the advent of color photography, everything was black and white and that before the advent of photography, everything was a cartoon.

I used to think that the 'olden days' ended because everybody died including the children. Then there were new people who made up the modern times.

i used to believe color was invented. I would see old pictures in black and white and think that everything looked that way in real life.

When I was about 7 I used to believe that in the old days everybody saw in black and white (because all old photos were black and white). I just assumed that's how life looked to everyone back then.

I used to believe in the 3rd grade that when the first president was born the world was born, and that the presidents have existed for 1000s of years ...

I used to think that in the past, everything was black and white - there was no colour. So I'd always ask my mum 'when did the world get colour?'
