For a while I thought that the world WAS black and white in the old days
After comparing pictures taken by our family when I was little (which were in color) and the pictures taken when my parents were kids (which were black and white), I thought my parents were so old that colors--not color film--hadn't been invented yet.
When my children were younger they couldn't understand how black and white films were made. I told them "colour" wasn't invented 'til the 1970s. For years they believed that colour in real life was a fairly recent invention. ie. "When I was a little girl, grass was grey, not green!"
when I was a child i thight that the world was all black an white
I used to think that everything in the world was black and white before the fifties. I think that this was because all the films and tv from before then was black and white.
While I was growing up, my mother used to show me pictures of herself as a child and tell me wonderful stories.I really thought that there was no color in the old days because the pictures were all in black and white. I remember seriously pondering thoughts about when color came into our lives.
I used to believe that before I was born the world was in black and white. I think this belief was fostered by the fact that the pictures I saw of myself were always in color, while the pictures I saw of my parents (taken before I was born) were always in black and white. Even during my early childhood the world was a dingy orange it seems:-) I still have a hard time picturing my parents as little kids "in color" ... they always come into my mind in black and white.
When I was a child (up to about four years old) I used to believe when my parents were growing up, EVERYTHING was black and white, because all the old film and pictures I'd seen from back then were black and white.
When I was a kid I was convinced that the entire world was in black and white, when my parents were young, and that someone along the way invented colour and painted the world with it. I suppose it came from seeing all the old photographs. My mom had quite a laugh when I told her.
I used to believe that before color photography and television were invented, the world and the people in it were black and white colored. When i was born in 1978, I just happened to be a part of the new Colored people generation haha.
i used to think that the world used to be black and white, cos that's what grandma's pictures showed me...
My Mother used to show us pictures from when she was a child. I used to believe that there was a time when there was no color because of all the pictures where in black and white.
When I was three years old I would look through our old family photo albums. Each album covered about two years and the years were labeled on each. Since the photos in the albums from the 1970's were in color but the photos in earlier albums were in black and white, I used to believe that color did not exist in the world and was not "invented" until 1970 .
My grandmother has a lot of black and white pictures in her house and so I believed that the world used to be black & white. We still say in our house: "Long ago when the world was black & white." Because of what I sayed when my gran told me a story of when she was small.
i used to think that the 50s were actually black and white because of i love lucy, ect. i came upon the relization while in an antique shop that the entire past wasnt, infact, black and white.
My son used to believe that the people in black and white movies on tv were all really just black & white (and grey), he used to ask me when people started to have color.
top belief!
I used to believe that old movies were in black and white because color hadn't been invented yet back then. I was so sorry for all the poor people who had to live in a black and white world while I was lucky enough to enjoy a beautiful world of color.
I once asked my grandmother "What was it like to live in black and white? What about crayons?" She was confused at first, but then realized as I asked a black and white episode of I Love Lucy was on the tv. :)
I thought you could paint in color in the past, but everything else was in black and white except that. :) This lasted till I was 5.
I used to believe everything in real life back in early times was in Black and White because watching old movies, all I saw were things in Black and White, until one day they magically discovered color.
I used to believe that before color television, people only saw in black an white.
