I always thought that the olden days were black & white and the world did'nt turn colour until the sixties !
top belief!
My dad told me that when he was little, the color purple hadn't been invented yet. I got the idea that purple had been invented a few years before I was born.
my friend was told by his mum when he was little that the world was black and white in "the old days", and used to argue constantly with his mum that rainbows obviously hadn't just been invented, as he had seen them before. so that was how he won his arguments.
In "The Wizard of Oz", when the movie changes from black and white to color, I used to believe that color film had been invented right then, while they were filming the movie. Of course, at the end when it changes to black and white again, it was because they only had so much to go around and the people filming Thw Wizard ran out, so they went back to black and white film.
When I was little , I remember watching black n white tv shows like The Honeymooners and Three Stooges... This then lead to my belief that old people can only see in black and white, while kids my age can see in color because were we born in the present times with color tv and cameras..
I used to think that a few years after the television was invented that the world changed from everything being in black and white to everything being in color.
I didn't ever think of the cameras changing.
I used to believe that in the "olden days" (when grandma was a little girl) that the world was black and white (my only source being old movies.) Once I asked grandma when everything went color.
i used to believe that color was an invention.
i saw photos in black and white and i thought the world used to be in black and white.
to this day i have a hard time translating black and white images into color in my head.
I had my little brother convinced that color was only invented in the last century, before that the world was in black and white. I referred to old movies and photos as the proof. He believed it almost untill his teens.
I used to believe that before color TV and movies, nobody could see but black & white in the world, no color. I'd watch a 'Get Smart' rerun and think, 'Gosh I'd like to have lived back then to see what life was like in black & white.'
I thought that old movies were black and white because the world was black and white then.
A primary school friend of mine used to believe that everything before the second world war was black and white because there was no colour news reel footage
I used to believe that before colour TV the world was black and white....
I used to believe that everything was in black and white back in the "old days" because of all the black and white programs and films.
Whilst on my paper round I suddenly realised that the world around me had in fact always been in colour. Up to that point i'd always believed that the past was in black and white (probably due to black and white tv viewing and old photos)
I used to think when looking at old black and white photos that everything was actually black and white and colour was only invented when colour photos came around (Stupid i know, but hey, i was a kid!)
My daughter used to believe that people in the 40's and 50's were gray and white instead of living color because of the photos she had seen from back then, before color photography.
I used to believe that the whole world was in black and white before colour TV was invented...
Watching all those old B&W movies I used to think that things in the olden days where black and white.
That since black and white television/movies were old, that no color existed in the "real" world back in the "old" days.
