I used to believe that pennies were made of gold, and therefore must be very valuable! I always saved all the pennies I found on the ground. :)
When I was younger my friend told me that in Ireland instead of having 3-leaf clover patches they had 4-leaf clover patches and that finding a 3-leaf clover over there was lucky. We devised a plan to sell our 3-leafed clover over there to make money! I actually still believed this till a few months ago when I put some thought in to it ...I'm in Collge
I used to believe that a "gentlemens club" was a building where a bunch of men gathered together in tuxedos and top hats to smoke cigars. I was quite embarassed when I learned the truth!
I used to believe that everyone else on the earth was a robot, and they were only made because they needed to help me live my life, even the ones in another country, because what if I visited that country? I would always cry at night thinking, "Why do I have to be alone!?"
I used to worry that the presidential candidate my parents didn't vote for won, the world would end. Luckily it wasn't put to the test until I had some sence knocked into me.

When I was young, I couldn't understand how you put money on your mobile phone, so I came to the conclusion that you'd take the back off and there would be a special slot for the money, which would slowly disappear as you use it.
I used to believe that when you put bills into a vending machine, it shredded them. (Because of the noise.) What stymied me though, was when you hit the change return it GAVE THE BILL BACK. I couldn't figure out how the machine put the pieces back together so seamlessly. And it WAS the same bill, cuz I tested it by writing down the serial number. :|
When I was little, I used to think that when someone went bankrupt, a robber went into their bank and stole their money. I always wondered why my Grandpa told me not to go bankrupt if it was out of my control.

I thought people in Hungary were always very hungry and the people living in Turkey always stuffed themselves...
I used to think my school actually disappeared on days when I didn't have school. I thought this because my mom was driving me somewhere on a day off and we went down what I thought was the street my school was on, but it wasn't, so of course my school wasn't on it...
I used to think the southern half of the United States was warm all the time and the northern half was cold all the time (I live in southern California). Then I went to New York City in the summer...
I used to think London was in France. Whenever kids in school would say, 'I see london, I see France, I see so and so's underpants', I was confused because I figured if you could see London, of course you could see France!
My sister and I both jumped to the same conclusion that the sea was actually someones paddling pool.
Just a lot better than the one we had in our garden.
I thought Canada never experienced daytime after I saw a picture of a mountain in Canada at night. I also thought it was nothing but ice and glaciers, like Antarctica, because of this.

Up until I was twelve, I used to wonder why there were so many baby prams at the golf club. Years later I discovered that they were golf carts.
When I was 10, my family went to the grand canyon & the adults were talking about how it takes 2 hours to hike down and it can take 4 to 6 hours to go back up. However I misheard them. I thought they said 46 hours, not 4 to 6 hours. I was thinking "Why would anyone want to spend almost two days hiking up a canyon?" A few days later I was thinking about it and I realized my mistake.
