My brother convinced me that in a football match consisting of two legs, players in the first leg had to use their left leg only, and then in the second leg use their right.
When I was a young kid I used to believe that the best way to make money was to buy something. Everytime my mum took me to the shop and brought something she always got money! (little did I know it was just change.....)There was always the alternative of the magical hole in the wall that dispenses all the money one desired (or an atm...)
I was babysitting this girl and her sister, they asked me about the places I have visited. Well I mentioned that I had been to Chicago. The girl looks at me in disgust, and says, "I will never go to Chicago! THEY EAT MONKEYS THERE!"

When my daughter was 3 years old, my favorite fast food joint was called "Miami Subs". My little one heard me say it plenty of times I suppose, because one day when a friend of mine told her he was going to Miami Subs, she sternly told him "It's not YOUR Ami Subs! It's my MOMMY'S Ami Subs!" She totally thought the name was Ami Subs and that it belonged to me! TOO CUTE!
I used to believe that a street in our town, called Miami Street belonged to my mom, because when I asked her what street we were on, she said, "My ami". I said, "Your ami???". She said, "No, My ami" and I said, "Yeah, your ami". It took many trips down that street to for it to finally sink in!
I am 52 now (2007) so I grew up in the cold war. For many years, I believed that the nuclear holocaust was at hand, so much so that I would hear thunder and think it was a nuclear attack. I suppose the constant news on the subject was a contributor. I finally outgrew it.

I never understood the concept of working and getting paid, but I understood the concept of getting drinks refilled, and I used to think that parents did the same with their wallets they would spend money, and then type in how much they spent and that much would pop into their wallet, like when you get a drink refill you tell them what kind it was.
I used to believe that when someone said they had a dollar, it was equal to a normal dollar (4 quarters). But when they said they had a buck, a buck was equal to 2 dollars (8 quarters).
I used to believe that china REALLY was underground and my dad always told me to watch out for the china man cuz if I dug to deep he would pull me down. I was scared to death to pull carrots, rubarb or dig potatoes when my mom or dad would ask me for fear that the china man would get me!
