Until I was about 10 I beieved that people could actually dig to China, and I told my friend that if we dug in the sandbox far enough, we could get to China. Then he told me that if we dug to China,the chinese dug to here. But if we dug too far and took a wrong
turn underground, we would get to hell!
So everyday, if I saw an Asian man outside, i would compliment him about his digging skills, but if I saw a construction worker digging, or even someone in the sandbox, I would scream at the top of my lungs and cry and tell them to stop.I was to horrified to dig for the next 6 years!Then i found out that you cant dig to hell. you just burn in flaming hot magma burning your skin in a terrible abyss of pain and fire while screaming in terror while burning into an oblivion!!!What a relief...
I used to think that the state of Texas was New York and that the Statue of Liberty was right smack in the middle of the state.
When I was little, I thought America was a magical land inhabited by famous people, cowbys, + cartoon characters.

When I was a kid they always had commercials for vacations to Jamaica where all the happy island people were singing and playing guitar. I didn't know there was more than one Jamaica so when we took the train to Jamaica, Queens I was really surprised.
When I was growing up San Francisco was the only city I had ever seen so I thought that all cities had hills. I was sure that in order to be a city it would have to have hills - boy was Los Angeles a surprise for me!
I asked my mum if she had been on holiday to Mars when i was little...we had been watching a programme about it and was sure my mum had been there!!!
When I was about 7 my mom told me we were going to Spain. We live in Mexico. Anyway, I started crying and told her I didn't want to go because I didn't want to wear those big dresses... too much tv I guess :p

Diana, Princess of Wales was a confusing title to a seven year old girl. Unaware that Wales was part of the UK, I thought she was princess of the big, underwater mammals. I wanted to be Princess of Dolphins. Still do, actually...
I used to believe when i was younger that the world was square so if u got in a boat and just kept going u would fall off the earth.
I remember thinking that Indiana was India, and it was part of the United States. I remember thinking how cool it was to live in the same country as Aladdin (don't ask).
When I was 5 years old, my parents took me to Colonial Williamsburg. I thought that the whole town was some sort of natural phenomena, like the grand canyon and Old Faithful. I thought that in like, the 1600's, the pilgrims, upon discovering this place, must have thought it was some idealistic representation of a faraway future.
I used to believe that the Netherlands was Hell.
When i was little i use to believe that whenever you would put ur finger on a map that people could actually see ur finger going by their window... So i would always slide my finger across Pennsylvania to see if i could see my finger go by...

I grew up in a seaside town, and for several years I thought that everywhere had its own sea. The notion of 'inland' never really occured to me.
When I was six, I under the impression Egypt was a fictional place. Boy was I surprised when I was playing with a globe and found out that Egypt was real country.
I would visit Ohio a lot to see my aunt, so I believed that everywhere I went outside of my town was Ohio.
