I used to believe that the whole world ended with Paris. I also thought Europe was a country! And every time you rewinded a videocassette or played it, little men inside the videocassette had to controll the filmrollers. Heh. I came to this conclusions all by myself.

I also remember him telling me that his father had given birth to him, since he was a boy. Mothers only give birth to girls!

Back when I first started school we were taught to remember directions: north was my head, south my feet, east my right hand, and west my left hand. So, to get to Alaska I would have to go straight up into the sky. Now I use a compass.

When I was in elementery school I had a book that explained the three branches of the US government. There was a map of the United States that showed pictures representing each branch. For the Executive Branch it showed the White House in a circle on New Jersey and Pennsylvania. For the Legislative Branch it showed a picture of the Capitol on Virginia. And for the Supreme Court it showed a picture of the Supreme Court Building on Ohio. Ever since then I always picture the Supreme Court meeting in Ohio. Although now I know it meets in Washington, I can't shake the image of the court being in Ohio.

My Dad was a traveling salesman and as a boy he would take me on business trips during summer vacation. In the 1950's freeway system was expanding throughout California and they had markings for the roads that ran along side the freeways. They were marked as "Frontage Rd.". I remember getting on the interstate in L.A. and seeing "Frontage Rd." and then all the way to San Franciso seeing "Frontage Rd.". I thouht "Frontage Rd." was the longest street in California.
