When I was young we lived in a town that was connected to a larger town by crossing a bridge across the river. We could see only the top of this bridge from our home and I used to be afraid to drive to the next town because I thought we had to drive across the top of bridge to get there and I was afraid we would fall through to the river.
When i was about 5 I used to believe that Broken Hill was a broken hill.
i used to wonder why the starving children in Africa didn't just swallow air,eat their snot and fingernails.then they wouldn't be hungry!!!

When I was young, I used to travel alot by plane, so much so that I thought that the on top of each cloud was a country, because you had to fly up in the air to get to them.
I used to think that the state of Texas was New York and that the Statue of Liberty was right smack in the middle of the state.
I am almost 16 and up until a week ago.. i believed that the united states of america was it's own continent in between north america and central america.... yea... i suck!!
When I was young, my aunt lived in a small northern Canadian town called Cassiar. Having learned a bit of world geography by looking at a globe with my dad, I thought she lived in Madagascar.
I used to believe that England was in the Moon.

My mum used to take me to preschool on her bike. On the way we'd pass a place where American troops stayed, near a defence base, and they flew the American flag (we're in Australia). For years I thought that I was visiting America on my way to preschool
I used to believe Finland didn't really exist, it was just a make-believe land with a made-up name, because "fin" means "end" in my mother tongue. Also, I heard Santa Claus lived there, and I already knew he wasn't real.
I used to think that England and Scotland are where France and Germany are...My 2nd grade teacher was from the UK and she used to tell us all these great things about it, so I thought it must have been a pretty big country...I didn't figure out the actual geography of Europe until I took World History my freshman year in high school...apparently elementary/middle school geography classes taught me nothing :)
I used to believe that the globe was a round balla nd had like horizontal lines of colour for the countries. England was blue and was at the top lol
When I first came to Europe,I met people who used to believe that Africa was a country inside India(don't know why they thought so).Some still do.
I used to believe that Eurostar trains actually went through the water, rather than being built in a tunnel, and thought there must be a station underwater for when people went diving!

when I was young, I thought Denmark was a state, just like Deleware and North Dakota.
when I ws about 5 I believed that every place in the world was in the united states. And I also beleived that translvannia and pennslvannia were the in the same place. Then my dad got me a globe for Christmas.
I thought suicide was a place near Liverpool, England
I used to think that the only country on Earth was America, and that there were only four states: California, Washington, New York, and Oregon where I lived.
I live in Washington D.C. One time my mother had to go to Boston for a business trip. Because I was 5, I thought that was somewhere near Wyoming. I asked her if they all wore cowboy hats in Boston.
