the world: places

I used to believe that igloos never really existed, & that they were just silly made-up things used in cartoons. I guess the idea of living in a house made of ice was too unbelievable for me to handle...?

Untill the age of 6 i used to believe there is only Latvia Rushia England... at the age of 7 I knew there was Germany and Finland.
At the age of nine I felt like a fool mistaking america with england!

But I really didnt need to know so many countries!!!

well, when i was 5 years old i was in the former checersslovakia(sorry about spelling its late at night) when they split into slovakia and chek republic, i thought a huge lazer beam from space was goona come and cut the country in-half, meanwhile it was only a line drawn on a map how bizarre

That Mexico and Canada were part of the US.

I used to believe that Brazil was where RUSSIA is supposed to be!

I used to believe that we all lived inside the Earth and not on the surface... for whatever reason.

I use to believe that if you dug far enough down into the dirt, you would get to the other side of the world. I think I was about 6 or so.

When I was in elementary school, I told one of my teachers that when I was older, I wanted to travel the world and find a new country. I was very upset when she told me that she was pretty sure all the countries has already been discovered.

I used to think that people on the East Coast or other parts of the US had never heard of California. I was duly impressed when my cousins had heard of the state that I lived in. XD

When I was younger, I thought that a globe wasn't just a small model of the world, but an ACTUAL little world. Like I thought that tiny little people lived inside of it and just did the same things that we did, just at a microscopic level.

When my sixth grade class finally finished memorizing all the countries in the world, I raised my hand to ask where I could find "Orientar." My teacher was confused, until I sang the song... "We three kings from Orientar, bearing gifts we've traveled so far!" I really thought it was a place.

i used to beleive that no one was born outside of the US. i could never understand why anyone would ever leave.

I used to believe that my town was the unique in the world because it was so small and I didn't see much people around there, so for this I thought that there weren't more things at the ended of the mountains and always asked Where comes the money? because my parents sometimes had and sometimes didn't have.
