I thought that toilets would suck me in when ever I sat down
I used to believe…
When I was little I used to believe that every time you flushed the toilet, that a door at the end of the pipe would open and trolls would run up it and if you were still in the bathroom then they would get you. Whenever I flushed the toilet I always ran as fast as I could down the stairs and jumped down the last few so I was faster. When I twisted my ankle I was scared that I couldn't get out fast enough so I got loads of toilet paper and purposely blocked the toilet so that the trolls were stuck.
I used to believe when you went to the bathroom in a plane it would drop out the bottom and land on the ground. I also believed that was what the sucking sound was when you flushed it.

When I was about 4, I became convinced that if I the toilet was closed and I opened it, I would see the face of my mother's youngest step-brother looking at me. I was terrified and would make my mom open it for me.
I barely knew him, but I suspect I must've had some weird dream that led to that fear. It took about 2 years to get over.
I was always terrified of toilets as a child and believed monsters could come out when you flushed, so I'd get as far out of the cubicle as I could while still in reach to flush, and then hurtle out of there as fast as possible so the monster wouldn't catch me.

When I was younger I used to think snakes would hide in the plumbing of our toilet. So every time I sat on the toilet I would pause every 5 seconds to make sure that a snake wasn't about to bite me!
I used to think that when I flushed the toilet it would wake up the monster hiding behind the shower curtain. I had until the flush noise stops to wash my hands or the monster would get me.
I used to believe…
When I was around 3 or 4, I used to believe that it was bad to sit on the toilet for too long because I thought that burglars were able to get into the house through the sewer system and up into the toilet! I was scared that the longer I sat on the toilet, the more likely it was for a burglar to come up the toilet as I was sitting there and steal me!
I used to believe, when I was a child, that the reason you couldn't eat on the toilet was because your body couldn't handle food going in as 'food' was coming out.
I used to believe…
When i was about 6 i used to believe that if the toilet stopped flushing before i left the bathroom it would come to life and eat me. i don't know where i got the idea from but when the lock got stuck on the door once and i couldn't get out, i cried and my mother had to come and pick the lock to get me out
I belive- and still to today- that when you flush the toilet a man eating monster is going to come look through the window so I rush out of the toilet when I flush! Im only 11 so this habit is going to go on for a while!!!
I was always told not to flush the toilet when someone was in the shower. I thought it was because the toilet water came out of the shower. I cried so hard when my mum flushed the toilet while I was showering!
I used to believe…
when i was about 5 i had this dream that if i didn't leave the bathroom after flushing the toilet a giant bird would smash through the window and eat my dad. I am now 17 and i still believe that...

my friend told me that there was a lady who lived in the back of the toilet and the sound that came when you flush was actually a warning that she was coming and you had 5 sec. to leave before she ate you.

i used to be scared to use the bathroom becuase i believed something lived in the toilet.
I never watched horror movies so when a friend told me about It grabbing a little boy from inside the toilet I was terrified it would happen to me. The loud flushing public toilets made freaked me out and I would always try and get my hands clean and get out of there before he grabbed me. To make it worse my elementary school had a long gated hallway leading to the bathroom. I used to run down that hall imagining him coming to get me in his demon clown car. Sometimes flushing public toilets still scares me.
I used to believe that when you flushed a toilet, you had until the water level reached the drain pipe to get out of the bathroom before a terrible monster would come out and hurt me. This resulted in me booking it down our hallway every time I pressed the flush. And we're not even going to touch the automatic toilets in public restrooms.
