i saw a horror film once when i was little, it was something to do with someone coming out of the plumping. and there was a bit where someone came out of the toilet, and they had that wierd scary look about them. so i was terrified of going to the toilet (i still went though). But everytime i flushed the toilet i'd run out of the bathroom quickly.

I've always had this fear that there was a hand living in every toilet, and that whenever you were using it, it would come up and pull you down, taking your hands for the next toilet. I'm 14 now and still check all toilets before and during.

When i was little i was afraid of going into public toilets. My ultimate fear was falling into the toilet and being flushed...I still can't use public toilets!

when i was little, my grandmother always told me that snakes could climb up the pipes to the toilet and bite me. i was always cautious when using the bathroom and i would do it as quickly as i could and i would jump up off of the toilet to make sure that there wasnt a snake in the it.

When I was little my dog would allways drink out of the toilet. I couldnt understand what a toilet was so I just thought it was like a drinking fountain. and sometimes I went in there and drank the water.

I used to believe the sound of a flushing toilet was nearly identical to the 90210 theme.

When I was little I was not the kind of kid who asked their parents every question imaginable, I would figure out life's questions by myself. One of these questions was what the noise the toliet made when it flushed.

I figured that an evil witch and some goblins lived in the toilet. I believed that whenever the toilet was flushed that I had to shut the lid, turn out the light, run out of the bathroom, and slam the door shut all before the toilet stopped flushing. I thought that if I didn't then the evil witch would send her goblins to get me and they would cook me for dinner.

I don't know why I thought this but it scared the hell out of me for years.

When I was camping with girl scouts we always had a list of things to clean at camp (dishes, ect). One of the duties was to clean the toilets (which are actually out houses). The older members would tell us that if you were put on duty of cleaning the toilets on the last day, they would tie a rope to your stomache, and lower you in with a paint scraper. You would have to scrape off the sides of the out house and put everything into a bucket. Then dump the 'waste' by a tree to help it grow faster. EEW, disgusting, I know! I was so terrified the first time I heard this, I refused to go to the bathroom the whole weekend. That way if I had to clean the toilet, I could say "I never used the toilet, make someone else do it."

I was DEATHLY afraid of public toilets. I wouldn't use one even if I was about to poop my pants. I kept imagining that, when I went to flush, the toilet would burst and send up a litteral column of water (and also....well, do I really want to go there?)straight up to the ceiling at typhoon speeds, and it would flood the bathroom and I'd drown. (I have a fear of water/drowning in the first place.) Never mind that the bathrooms aren't watertight, never mind that water pressure (strangely, I knew all about water pressure even though I was quite young at the time) in sewage lines would never grow that large, never mind that had never heard about that happening before, never mind that other people used them just fine, I was convinced that public toilets were death traps. If I absolutely had to use one, I would flush and then run like crazy out the bathroom door. Needless to say, I got some strange looks at that.

Looking back, I think it has something to do with the loud flushing, a Flying Rhino Junior High cartoon episode (Where, you guessed it, a toilet explodes exactly like that, minus the...well, stuff), and the ability to hear the rushing water throughout the walls in the piping. I'm 13 and still am very reluctant to use a public toilet.

when i was young i would strategically hover above the toilet seat while using the loo (so as not to get sucked down by the 'toilet monster') also when i flushed the loo i would leg-it out of the bathroom when flushing the loo so as not to get sucked into the toilet and would wait until the gurgling stopped before i washed my hands

ok this was actually my brother that did this but... when we were younger we watched the freddy crouger movies alot (i.e nightmare on Elm st. and so on..) and he would go to the bathroom and anytime he'd go pee he wouldnt flush the toilet when he was done but he'd go and open the door and run back to the toilet and flush it really fast and then run out of the bathroom shutting the light off behind him... he was afraid that freddy was gunna come out of the toilet when he flushed it and snatch his man parts off! lol but freddy couldnt come up if he pooped only pee cuz he didnt like the smell of the poop! wat and idiot!

I used to think when i was in pre-k that there was a monster named Warda that lived in the toilets and that he would try to pull me down if i tried to poop. Obvioulsy i tried to avoid this fate, so i would often go days without pooping.

I used to squat over the toilet because I thought a rat would crawl up from the sewage and bite my but and I would get rabies.

When I was 5, my family moved to Paris, France for a year. In Paris, there are these coin-operated porto-potties on the sidewalk (I don't remember the specifics of where or how many). My mom told me something about having to be finished in under a few minutes, but I interpreted it as that if we didn't use them in under a minute, the toilet would self-clean (hot water and soap would spray out of the walls) and we'd be killed. But that doesn't really make sense now...

When I was little, I used to think that there were pirates in the toilet (don't ask me why!). I was so scared that when I went to the toilet, I would allways pretend to be a pirate so that the pirates wouldn't eat me. I kept bringing my plastic sword & eyepatch to the toilet with me until I was about five!!!

when i was a lil child my bro thought it was fun to scare his lil sister (me) so he told me to watch out at night when i go to the loo cause there's this toilet monster that will grab you when you sit down and it'll pull you into the bowl and flush you down with it... and make this joyful squeal as you both spin together down the bowl. i so SO SOOOOO believe him... so i'd try my best not to pee at night... but if i really REALLY had to go, i would pee real quick and rush off with my pants still down... hehee... ofcourse i would flush.. but straight after that i'd flee!!!! FLEE FROM THE TOILET MONSTA! :) Big bro can be a bully... but i still love him very much (though don't tell him that!) *grins* Incase you're wondering whether i still run from the toilet monster... i don't... because a time comes when you realise that all the things you are told may not necessarily be true... and you learn to discern fantasy from reality... though there are times that i still dream... but my fear of the toilet monster is finally conquered~ hurrah! :)

When I was little my grandfather would take my family camping on the 1000 Islands. One night when I was 5 he told us a scary story about the click-click-slide monster, a deformed woman with really long fingernails that she drags herself around on. From that point on, i got that thought that she lived in the outhouses on the island and she would reach her finger nails up and grap you if you sat down. That thought was probably put in my head by my grandfather, actually....

after watching arachnaphobia i thought there was a huuuuuuuuuuge spider in the toilet and it would bite me so i watched the toilet and flush ed at least 3m away from the toilet now i have concered my fear but my brother has not

I never really knew a toliet got dirty until I was in my late teens.

My Mom was a real "clean freak" and she had a cloth in the bathroom that she would clean the toliet with 4 or 5 times a day.

I never really knew a toliet got dirty till my late teens when I lived at a friends house for a week and saw how filthy the toliet and bathroom had become by the end of the week.

Now that I live on my own I can sure appreciate all the hard work my Mom went through to keep those toliets clean.
