I used to be so afraid of the toilet because when I was little I believed that frogs were waiting in the toliet to lick you clean when you've finished your business. When I became an adult and an ACTUAL frog was in my toilet, I had a panic attack (clinging to my husband in fear "it's true? I thought I made that up...")

I used to believe…

When I was little I believed that if I was near a toilet when it flushed I would be flushed too. I spent most of elementary school running out of the bathroom after flushing.

I used to believe…

From age 5 to about 10, I thought that the tank on the back of the toilet collected the water that went down the sink or bath tub drains. And that that water was used to flush waste away. Oddly I recently found out that this eco friendly idea has been used...I should have spoken up as a child I could have become a very wealthy individual.

I used to believe that there was a control room behind every bathroom that had automatic toilets. People sat in there watching on TVs for people to finish using the bathroom and they would push the button to flush it from the control room. I was creeped out by this idea that I refused to use those kinds of toilets until I found out it was only a sensor.

I used to believe…

When I was a kid they started putting the automatic toilets in public stores and restaurants, and when I would go to use them I would finish, pull up my pants, and try and get out the stall before it flushed, because I was afraid it would suck me down in it or a monster would grab me... The first few times I would scream, one of those times my mom was in the next stall and got freaked out. She still thinks it was a huge spider. Sometimes I still catch myself tryin to get outta the stall as fast as I can... lol

I used to believe that if you sit on the toilet too long your legs will fall off. My dad told me this so i wouldn't spend too much time in the bathroom taking a poop, One time, I got off the toilet and looked at the back of my legs and saw the red marks from sitting down and I thought to myself, "Whew, that was as close one."

I used to believe in that there was a monster that lived under the toilet that my poop and if I didn't feed it regularly, it would eat me.

I used to believe…

When I was young, i believed my brother's tale of the gremlins in the toilet. He used to tell me that if i didnt put the toilet lid down BEFORE i flushed the toilet, that the gremlin would jump up and bite my tush. I still find myself lowering the lid, and for a very long time, i would run after flushing the toilet in public restrooms.

I used to believe…

In the movie "Finding Nemo" there is one line i took way to seriously...."all drains lead back to the ocean" until about fourth grade i was convinced alligators and sharks lived under the bathtub and toilet and when you flushed the toilet or drained the bathtub the flushing/water draining sound was them growling at me.

I used to believe that when you go poop a snake might come out of the toilet and bite your butt.

I used to believe…

When I was little, my stepfather used to have the game "Resident Evil" and he kept the Playstation in the living room. I used to believe that if I flushed the toilet in the middle of the night, the zombies would come out and get me. I'm still afraid of flushing in the middle of the night. The only difference is that now, I have the courage to flush.

I used to think that the toilets went directly to the lakes and streams. I also loved to fish, so one day when my mom would not take me I decided that I would just use the toilet. An hour latter and a full reel of line later my mom heard the contant flushing and found me "Toilet fishing"

When I was young my best friend and next door neighbor told me that when you flush the toilet an evil witch comes out and sucks you down. I believed this for a really long time, longer than i'd like to say. Even now, if I'm alone in the house and go to the bathroom I leave the door open so i can run out faster. I'm 20.

I went into the boy's bathroom one day in first grade (I'm a girl), and when I came out, a little boy told me, "This is the boy's room. You can't come in here."
So I told him, "You need to learn to share."

I used to believe that if you "did your business" with the lights off that you would go blind... stupid lying big sisters!!

I used to think when you went the bathroom the toilet would suck you down. I would do my business then shut the lid, stand on the toliet and flush it. I also thought farts were actually green and people could see when you fart.

I used to believe…

Not sure why, but, I believed everytime I flushed the toilet Captin Hook would come up, out of the toilet, and get me. So, I would flush the toilet and sprint out of the bathroom.
