My mom once told me a story about how in florida alligators got get into the sewers and stuff. So for years I was afraid to sit on the toliet and I would constantly be looking down afraid that one would bite my butt!

When I was a child I was terrified to flush the toilet, as I thought the shower would turn on and soak me. I remember using the toilet, washing my hands, opening the door of the bathroom, then flushing the toilet and running out of the room as quick as I could before the shower could turn on.

When I was little, from about age 4, I wouldn't flush the toilet if the water was blue. I was afraid that it would make the blue go away and the people who made it blue would be mad at me.

When I was little I used to think that there were monsters down in the ground below your toilet and when you flushed that was their food and drink. I thought when you just peed that they were getting their drink, and when you pooped that was their meal. I always said here comes your food when I flushed. I thought they were so grateful when they heared that flush.

When I was really little I was always worried about going to the bathroom for 3 reasons;
1. the booger-monster would come out of the toilet and steal my butt.
2. If i flushed the toilet aliens would take over the world and steal my brother.
3. A baby would come out of my butt.
I was a twisted child. Amazingly, I still am.

when i was little and kind of still do have this paranoia that when i go to the bathroom in an aquareum that some type of water creature is going to pop out of the toliet and bit me in my butt. i always make sure i have gone to the the bathroom before i visit an aquareium
i used to be so afraid of toilets. i literally believed that captain hook lived in our toilet, and he would come up the drain and poke me in the bottom with his hook. In order to keep from getting peed on, he had an umbrella around his wrist and he would just have the hook sticking out the top. how wierd...where in the world would I have gotten that from?

Spray paint cans have marbles in them to help stir the paint when you shake them. When I was little, my dad used to cut the cans open and put the marbles in the toilet tank. For the longest time, I believed that if you went poo poo once a day, your toilet would produce these marbles for you to play with.

I used to think that the sound after the toilet was flushed was ladies singing
I thought here was always some little people on my bathroom floor, so when i was sitting on the toilet, i would try to talk to them.
I don't know why I thought this when I was a kid, but i thought ever time I sat on the toilet, aliens would take that chance to abduct the rest of my family, except for me.

When I was little, my Mother had a hard time getting me potty trained and couldn't figure out the reason. It was later to be revealed that I watched the movie, "Nerds" and saw a snake coming out.
I was pretty freaked out by the whole bathroom in general when I was little. I could never go to the bathroom without the shower curtain completely open. The linen closet door had to be completely closed. The weirdest thing I would do was cover the hole/drain in toilet bowl with toilet paper before I would sit down to go. So there were little squares of toilet paper floating neatly in the middle of the toilet water. I guess I was convinced that something could come up and get me and (of course!) the toilet paper could keep that from happening. Obviously my theory was "if I can't see it, it isn't there". What an idiot!

I used to believe that when I flushed the toilet in Fort Worth, TX, its contents went off to a warehouse in Dallas.

An older cousin of mine, when she was about six, was under the impression that every night a man had to come into everyone's house to remove the poop that had accumulated in the back of the toilet. This man was called the Plumber, and he carried a large vacuum that he would insert into the toilet to suck everything out in reverse. If you ever happened to be on the toilet in the middle of the night when the Plumber appeared, he would surely suck your butt off without noticing. She told me this several times, although I was never sure if I should believe her or not.

When I was in the first grade, my friend Sam and I were terrifed of the 'booeyman' that we thought lived in the toliet. While we were at school, we always flushed and then ran out of the bathroom. One time, I flushed, and was about to run out when I relized that Sam wasn't behind me. I got really nervous when she didn't answer me. "Sam.....Sam? .....SAM!" I screamed her name really loud and then ran out of the bathroom, thinking she had been kidnapped by the booeyman. (Turns out, she was hiding in her stall to scare me. ^___^) She still hasn't let me live that one down. (:
I had this irrational fear of flushing toilets- like something scary would come up out of the toilet upon flushing. I would use the bathroom, flush, and quickly close the lid and run to the safety of my bed, jump in and get completely under the covers till the toilet stopped making noise.
