I used to believe that aligators lived in the sewers and after we flushed the toilets they would eat it. I was always quick to get off the toilet in case an aligator decided to come up through it!

I used to believe that when u flushed a toilet (well when it made that loud noise) well i thought that a big monster would come out and eat you!! lol ,man what was i thinking? lol

I used to believe that when you flushed the toilet, and left your hand on the flush for a long time, you'd be sucked right in.

my primary school had a toilet labelled "invalid toilet" - i assumed it was "invalid" as in "not valid" rather than "disabled", so I thought it was just a broken toilet. For years I wondered why the school bothered to make a professional-looking sign for it, and why they didn't just fix the toilet.

incidentally, the school didn't have any disabled kids, so it was just used to store some cleaning equipment and a ladder - this just added further mystery for me when I took a peek inside.

I used to be scared of the older-style toilets with a raised tank, due to an episode of Grange Hill in which someone pulled the chain and the water from the tank emptied onto them. I think it was just a prank played by some other kid on the show, but I still believed that could happen if I used one.

For some reason, I was incredibly afraid of the urinals in the infants (age 4-7) section of my primary school, particularly the automatic flushing thing they would do. I think I believed that they would flood the place, and it would fill up with water.

For some of my first year there, I refused to go in alone, until I wet myself as a result of that policy. I was still scared of them for a while, though, despite being fine with other urinals - in fact, once in year 5 the junior toilets were being cleaned or something so I had to use the infant ones - even with the knowledge that the urinals were not, in fact, out to get me, I was still somewhat suspicious of them.

I used to believe…

when I was in year 4 (age 7-8 for those of you not familiar with the british school system), some kid told me that if you went into the toilets, turned the lights off and said something like "I believe in St. Mary's Lighthouse" three times, a ghost would come out.

Of course, I believed him - I went in, turned the lights off and damn near shit myself, only managing a half-arsed "hello?" before I ran out of there.

My Grandma's cat died, and, for reasons I have yet to fathom, I thought she had put it down the toilet, and I thought that if I sat on the loo, the cat would come up and scratch my ass. For about a year I would never dare to sit on my Grandma's toilet seat, I'd just kind of hover above it and hope for the best.

When i was little, my baby-sitter told me that a scuba-diver would come up out of the pipes and spear me in the butt. even though i never 'really' believed it, it still freaked me out every time i had had to go.

I used to believe urinals were sinks and I would spend a long time trying to find the faucet and pressing various areas of the urinal hoping to make water come out. Needless to say, it never did.

There was a tale in my primary school that a ghost hunted the toilets and her rings had been flushed down it. If you flushed teh toilet and hung about in a couple of days you would have scares all over your arms where she attacked you. I believed this for years and always waited until the last minute before i flushed the toilet.

I used to believe that snakes lived in all toilets and while I was sitting on the toilet, a snake would either bite my ass and/or crawl inside my asshole. It's definately a disgusting thought, and I'm not surprised that I was scared of that--but I don't know why snakes would live in the toilet. Probably, because they're the shape and size of the hole in the toilet?

I used to think, that if you flushed the toilet, when you were on your own, the poo monster would come up and get you. Then I realized, that i was no longer suceptible to the poo monster. But I was suceptible to acne, among other things.
