Aged nine, I saw a comedy show on the TV which included a song, during which the singer sang "I'm going to sit on a quango". This line was accompanied by a picture of a toilet. As a result, for over a year I believed 'quango' was a slang word for a toilet.

I USED TO BELIEVE THAT WHEN I WAS BLOWING IT UP, A SNAKE WOULD COME THROUGH THE PIPES AND UP THE BOTTOM AND BITE MY BUTT. SO I WOULD CHECK EVERY COUPLE SECONDS TO SEE IF THERE WAS A SNAKE HEAD IN THE TOILET TRYING TO BITE ME.

When I was little, let's say 4yrs old, I hated flushing our toilet because it was so loud....well I told my dad this and he explained to me that the sound came from the "Toilet Monster" trying to get out of the toilet bowl. For years after that I would flush the toilet and RUN from the bathroom out of fear that the "Toilet Monster" would sneek out and come get me.

When I was little, I overheard my parents talking about getting a new snake for the toilet. Little did I know this was a PART for the toilet!! I was petrified to take too long going to the bathroom, because the snake would come bite me!! Now I'm 19, and just confessed this to my mother. We have had so many laughs over that!!

Up until I was 7, I believed I had to make it down the stairs before the toilet finished flushing, or else I'd be eaten by the 'Bog Monster'. I would stand as far from the toilet as possible before flushing it, then run like hell down the stairs. I used to hate going to the toilet at my gran's house because it had a very short flush and the staircase was very, very long. To make it downstairs without being eaten I had to throw myself off the last 5 or 6 steps, often smashing painfully into the hallway floor. My gran always did wonder why I had to be at bursting point before going, and why afterwards I'd always crash down the stairs and end up sprawled all over the carpet!

When I was little I was quite afraid of bees. I still haven't actually been stung by one until this day, but I was afraid of a lot of things as a kid and bees was one of them. Somehow when I was around six years old I got it into my head one day that a swarm of bees actually lived in the toilet, and if I flushed the toilet all the pee would flood their hive and make them angry. For weeks after I imagined up this idea, I refused to flush the toilet and wouldn't tell anyone why. When I finally worked up the courage to start flushing again, I would first close the lid of the toilet, wash my hands and open the door wide so I would be ready to make a mad dash out of there when I finally did flush it. That routine went on for months.

As the oldest sibling of six, all under eight at one time, I took great thrill in the bath room visit, should we all go somewhere together, I the oldest, had to take each child to the bathroom. I would enjoy letting them know, that if they didn't hurry (usually my supper would be getting cold) that there was a little button on the floor I could step on and they would be flushed away.

When I was about three, I decided it would be fun to flush a pair of underwear. I guess it must have clogged the toilet, because my Mom and Dad were very upset with me.
Mom yelled at me and explained that Dad would have to find the underwear and pull it out of the toilet. I wondered how he would fit in, and whether he would need scuba gear. I also wondered what would have happened if my underwear had made it all the way to the lake--how on earth would he find it?

When I was really little, I was really scared to use to toilet sometimes because I believe that somehow a SQUIRREL was going to come up out of the toilet and bite my bottom while I was using it!

my youngest sister was obsessed with bathrooms when she was little. she would ask to go to the bathroom, no matter where we were, not because she had to go but so she could see what they looked like. we thought there was something really wrong with her...
she also liked to "teach" to "students" (her babydolls and stuffed animals) while sitting on the pot at our house when we were younger. my mom thought it was cute and even bought her some old textbooks from a yard sale for my sister to use... i think my mom even has some pictures... we still give my sister a hard time about it...
