Used to be absolutely certain that if I didn't make it back to my room before the toilet cistern finished filling then The Incredible Hulk would chase me down. Quite what The Hulk was supposed to be doing in my toilet, I'm not sure.
I used to think that if the toliet overflowed that the water would creep down the hall and into my bedroom and swallow me up. Because of this, I would always flush and then run as fast as I could into the living room.
To this day, every now and then when I flush the toliet I feel my heart start to race and my old fear creeping up on me!

I used to think that if I didn't look down the bowl as i was sitting down on the toilet, a hand would grab my behind and pull me in.
I got told once by my friend that he knew someone who died by a hand that came up the toilet and pulled them in! Everytime i went toilet after that i would go armed with a Hammer from my Dad's toolbox. Waiting for the hand to appear... It never did appear! Funny That!

At night i thought that there could be a skeleton sitting on the loo. I would stand well back as i gingerly opened the loo door and would cautiously approach the toilet, only turning round at the last minute and sitting down with my eyes screwed up. I would then have to go into the bathroom to wash my hands, avoiding the bath as there could be a skeleton lying in there too. I still hate going to the loo at night at my parents house!

At night, after going to the toilet, a the Devil's disembodied hand would emerge out of the u-bend, using the deafening flush to hide the sound of it's scampering as it chased me up to my room. The hard part came when running up the stairs, since it could leap through the gap in the banister and grab my ankle, rendering me powerless to scream out and/or fight it off. I would only be safe once under the covers of my bed.
I used to believe that there was a genie living down our toilet, and that whenever he wanted 'food' he wished for it and one of the people in our house would have to go and provide it. It was very scary!
