I always had a fear people were inside the toilet stool. I always thought people knew when i took a dump and would talk about me.

Somehow I saw Porkys (2 I think) when I was about 6, the part where the evil gym teacher sits on the toilet, and a snake (put in by the kids) comes out of the toilet while she is on it.. after that I was terrified to use a toilet... somehow I trained myself to go to the bathroom in record time.. because even now people always say "wow that was fast"

I used to be afraid that "boney Legs", a witch from a story Lived in the toilet.

I used to believe that if i didnt run fast enough out of the bathroom after flushing the toilet that it would explode.I always made it so i was never proven wrong.

My 4 year old son is deathly afraid of the automatic flushing toilets. He will NOT go on one.

When I was really young... I never had a problem with the toilet until one morning, while watching MTV's "Rude Awakening" Jon Stewart mentioned something about how they're celebrating the kicking of his co-host's fear of "The Toilet Monster". From then on, it made sense that the loud sound of the flush was the groaning of the monster. Still to this day I have a slight apprehension when I hear an abnormally loud flush.

i used to think that if you flushed the toilet, whatever is inside would go out the shower because my dad always said not to flush when he was taking a shower

As a kid I refused to use toilets with those little half-circle fresheners that hooked on the side. They looked scary, they smelled scary, and they had me in a very vulnerable position.

I used to believe…

When I was little I was afraid to sit on the toilet because my grandma told me there was a monster that lived in the pipes, and it came up and grabble little kids who stayed on for too long.

I used to believe…

When my sister Julie (aka Tigger) was about 3 she & mom were visiting a neighbor. They had a new toilet sitting in the living room waiting to be installed. Well, it seems Julie needed to have a poo-poo, so she did just that...then wondered why it wouldn't flush!!! LOL!!!

When I was little my parents would send me out of the room if they were watching a scary movie. Whenever they did this I would always make up any excuse I could to go back out. Well one year I did this and I saw a part of some movie where the guy got his head cut off and then left in the toilet. It scared me so badly that I still sometimes check in the toilet for a head before I go to the bathroom! LOL

As he went down the hallway toward the bathroom, my toddler son told his Internet-addict mother: "you'd better close that chat thingy because I'm fixin' to flush the toilet and it might mess it up."

I used to believe…

When I was young, my family lived in the U.K. During that time, I was convinced that the Loch Ness Monster had the ability to swim up through our toilet and attack me while I was on the loo. Needless to say, I felt a great deal of angst whenever I had to use the restroom.

The lid and seat were always up when my father left the bathroom. This observation, coupled with the obvious fact of men being larger than women (I hadn't yet noticed that rear ends do not follow this general rule), led to my entirely logical conclusion that men lifted the seat and sat on the rim of the toilet to poop, as the seat was too small for them. As I had never seen a man use a toilet, this belief stayed undisturbed in my mind for an embarassing number of years.

When my son was about two, he liked to accompany me to the bathroom EVERY TIME I WENT. One time, I asked him if I could have some privacy, and I'm not sure where he got this idea, but he replied, "Sure!" and turned around, reaching under the sink for a sanitary napkin, which he handed me, so proud for being a terrific help. He still didn't leave the room.

when i was little, i was always scarred of plugging up the toilet. it seems that every time i did, my parents would be angry at me. i could see the disappointment it in their eyes. after some time, when i flushed, i would plug my ears and run out of the room as to not be there if it happened. funny huh?

I used to think if you sat on the same toilet as a boy you got pregnant. Therefore I would squat above the toilet anytime my male friends came over.

My grandparents lived on an old farmhouse with no indoor plumbing. That meant late-night trips to the outhouse. With flashlight in hand, my mom would lead the way, with 7 children following closely behind. While my younger sister and I were taking our turn, I saw a spider crawling right beside me and I totally freaked out. I thought surely there were millions of spiders down in the "hole" (to which I thought there was no bottom), just waiting to swarm all over my bum and bite me. From that day on, a trip to Grandma's meant constipation for me, because no way in HELL was I going to sit that long on that stupid hole!
