after my grandmother let me watch "The Blob," I was convinced that any time I used the bathroom I was in eminent danger. I thought the blob was going to come up through the toilet and get me. I don't remember if anything like this ever happened in the movie, but for years and years I would never sit down completely on the toilet seat, or I would look down into it while going to the bathroom, just to make sure!

I used to believe that there was a snake hiding in the dark hole of the toilet. It took me a long time to actually sit down on the seat and not hover over it.

As a kid (5 or 6 years old), I used to believe that if toilet water splashed from the bowl and touched you as you where flushing, you would get herpes or some nasty infection and die. I would gingerly reach over and smack the knob, run out of the bathroom at light speed and slam the door.

When I was little I was terrified of automatic toilets. I thought that they would suck me down too.

My 4 year old son is deathly afraid of the automatic flushing toilets. He will NOT go on one.

I used to believe that snakes living in the sewage would come into your toilet and bite your backside while you were doing your business. I never spent more than five seconds in the bathroom.

i used to get scared when i was alone in a public bathroom because i thought the toilet would suck me down when i flushed.. i would pee (with the door open, only when alone), then i would wash my hands, go up to the toilet flush it and run out of the bathroom... i still do this sometimes.. im crazy ha ha

I used to believe that if I didn't finish my duties in the bathroom in under 10 seconds (walking in, closing the door, sitting down, using the toilet, grabbing the toilet paper, etc.), something bad would happen. Each time that something bad was different, like something coming out of the toilet, or something popping out from behind the shower curtains.

When i was young i would run out of the bathroom whenever i flushed the toliet because i thought i would be sucked down into it if i did not get out of the room before it finished. It took me until i was much older to be able to stay through the entire flush.

as a kid i was claustrophobic (sorry if thats spelled wrong...i cant spell) so i didn't like to go into the small public stalls. I told my mum this and she told me not to be silly. later i heard my sister say something about ghosts and my mum pretended to take her seriousally. knowing that there were no such thing as ghoshts i was really mad at my mum for taking her more seriousally then me, until i got an idea. from then on i told my mom i wouldnt go into the bathroom stalls, because they were haunted by people who had flushed while they were still on the toilet, and got sucked down, where they drowned and came back up to haunt the toilet forever. i wondered at the time why my mum didnt believe me...

When I was younger, i remember how i used to kill cockaroaches or spiders and grab their squished bodies with toilet paper and flush em' down the toilet. But then i just realized that maybe they are still down there waiting for me to take a doo or a wee so they can attack me from down under.
