i used to think cars were propelled along the road by the exhaust from the exhaust pipe. This was back in the 80s when you could actually see the exhaust coming out.

I used to believe that the trains in Thomas the Tank Engine were real, but rare and special, and that other trains were "regular" or "ordinary" trains that didn't have a face.

I used to believe…

When I was little, and I saw the sign that said "Pedestrian Crossing," I thought that certain people were born "drivers" and certain people were born "pedestrians." We were a driver family, and I would look at the pedestrians and feel sorry for them.

I used to believe that when you flew, the entire airport also flew with you; I had no idea what jetways were, or that aircraft could detach from them!

I used to believe that cars with red lights had to drive on the right side of the road and that cars with white lights had to drive on the left side of the road. It didn't occur to me that all cars have red lights in back and white lights in front.

Until I was about 12 I used to think that Jay walking meant you crossed the road naked. My mom used to say naked as a jay bird so I just assumed thats what it meant. I could never figure out why people would want to cross the road with no clothes on

I used to believe that if you opened a car door on the highway, the door would rip off and you and everyone else inside of it will be sucked out. I'm 15 and I still have a sneaking suspicion that its true, and never tried it.

When I was younger, if I was being bad, my mom used to tell me that there was an eject button in the car just for bad children. I used to look for it and press random places in the car, however I was still always afraid of being ejected.

I used to believe that the handicap symbol was a person sitting on a toilet, and the reason these parking spaces were near the entrance of a building was because that person really had to pee.

I suppose I must have had the properties of limos and taxis confused as a child, because I used to think taxis were only for very rich people. We had to ride one away from the airport one day and the whole ride (as I held the seatbelt closed because it was broken, I may add) I kept saying under my breath, "I'm rich, I'm rich, I'm rich."

I used to think that ducks lived under bridges as whenever we drove under a bridge my mum and nan would shout "DUCK!"

Later, after I had realised, I thought that you would hurt your head if you didn't duck down.

I used to believe that when my family and I would go on trips, or even just drive somewhere, that the car would not actually move. The world would move under the cars' wheels and we were always in the same place. So we did not drive to places, they actually came to us.

My sister used to believe that the first person who got up in the morning decided what side of the road they wanted to drive on and then all of the other drivers adapted to them.

When our youngest daughter was about four years old, we were flying to California on vacation. The morning were getting ready to leave, she kept running and looking out the door every few minutes. Finally she reported, "It's not here yet!" We came to find out that she thought the airplane would come to our house like a taxi and pick us up.

when I was younger I use to beleive that little men hid in stop light poles and they changed the lights form red to green for you. I would always smile at the one nearest to the car so he would change the light faster

When I was 4, I was at the beach with my family and I saw a helicopter but I could not remenber the name of it , so I asked my mother...�Mom, what�s the name of airplane�s brother? =)
