i used to think that tiny little white mice with microphones and a huge desk covered in buttons controlled the streetlights, i could always picture them screaming to one another what button to press.

I used to believe…

when i was small, i used to believe that a tiny elf sat inside the stoplight and that he pressed certain buttons to make the green and red lights come on

I saw the don't drink and drive ads and i was scared because my dad always had tea on long trips. I was afraid he would be pulled over and arrested.

I used to believe…

when i was little thought that ants changed traffic lights from green to red and vice versa.

I used to believe…

Really, really odd...

When I was little I used to think that the way cars got around was that they had two invisible bits of string in the front with hooks attached. When the person wanted to move forward, they would press a button and one of the hooks would come out the front of the car and latch onto a lamp-post, then the string would be reeled in to drag the car along... then the same would happen on the other side of the road. I used to look out for the little hooks and strings (?!?!?!) I didn't realise what lamp-posts were really for lighting the road until I was about 7... :-S ODD KID

I thought the 'no u-turns'sign meant 'no horses allowed on the road'..

i learned how to drive when i was 15. i'd never driven before or really watched anyone drive. so when i was driving on a dirt road at 30 mph and suddenly parked the car as we were entering on to the pavement(which screwed up the transmition) my dad yelled, "WHY THE HELL DID U JUST SWITCH FROM DRIVE TO PARK?" and i said, "drive and park? I Thought it was Dirt to Pavement!"

I used to believe…

When I was little I used to think that there were mice in the traffic lights. There was one on each side and they would hold up the colored lights. Then there was one in each corner that would look out at the traffic with binoculars and tell the others when to change the light.

I used to believe that the car automatically knew when we were turning a corner and which way to make the blinker go.

I used to believe…

when we would go on long trips i would ask my mom how many more miles until we got there. she said "i don't know, they change the mile markers every once in awhile."
i believed her...

I used to believe…

when i was a kid i thought that there were people in the traffic lights and they would shine flashlights out the correct whole at the same time

I used to think that the "dont drink and drive" adds meant that you couldnt drink ANYTHING and drive. So once when my mom popped an ice tea in the car i started bawling

When I was young I used to think to that cars actually bent around corners...I had no idea that the wheels turned

When I was 5 or so, I always thought that the light singals would go in any order. I never knew why my mom would slow at a yellow light. I thought if it was yellow the light was trying to make up its mind to turn green or red.

I used to believe…

When I was little about five, I used to think that all the cars on the rode were tied together with invisible string. And when one car would turn off the lane and broke the string they all had to pull over and tie the cars back together again.

When I was a kid, I loved music. I used to sing along to the radio in the car with my parents, and somehow I got the idea that other people would think I was a famous singer and move out of the way in their cars. So if my parents were in a hurry, I used to sing until the car ahead of us switched lanes.

I used to believe that areoplanes only stayed up in the sky because lots of hot air balloons kept them there. And when the pilot wanted to land, he'd simply shoot at the balloons with a gun until enough burst and the plane landed softly!

I used to believe that when you went to the toilet on an aeroplane, it would fall straight out of a hole in the bottom of the plane. It made sense at first; you wern't allowed to go to the toilet on a plane when it was taking off for fear of skid starts. My theory was bolstered even more when I found out that houses near an airport are cheaper than ones that aren't. You can tell that I was somewhat alarmed when I moved to a house near an airport... luckily, my parents were able to set the record straight after they noticed me frantically looking upwards everytime I heard an aeroplane.

I used to believe…

when i was 8 or 9, whenever my dad said that we were going to drive on the harbour bridge, i thought that we were actaully going to drive over the top of the brigde and not the road, so i was scared

hall of fame

I used to see "End Road Work" signs, and thought they were a sort of protest.
