I used to think that checked luggage was put on flying metal disks which would fly along behind the plane...And of course, this was why so much luggage got lost, because it would fall right off. I figured there must be some sort of system to get people's luggage back to them if it landed in your backyard.

I used to believe that there were tiny blue monkeys in the traffic lights, and they turned the certain lights on when needed, and vice versa. I had an imagination....

I thought cars were like trains, essentially stuck to the road, always going the right way and somehow being controlled or something. I had no explaination for car crashes, however.

When I was little I thought "no drinking and drving" meant no drinking ANYTHING and driving. It was all cleared up when I started screaming when my father took a sip of his soda.

I used to believe the tails of Airplanes cut open the clouds and made it rain. One would always fly over just as it started to rain...later I found out we were on a landing flight path, and they always flew over...

When I was younger I believed that instead of cars moving down the road, the roads moved the cars. Just like a giant conveyor belt.

i used to believe that the green man who tells you when to cross the road was a martian, hidden somewhere - like in a tree - who controlled the traffic lights.

I used to believe that the traffic lights are controlled by a person sitting in some office near it. That person is in front of a lot of TV monitors so he could see when to push the right buttons for red, yellow and green.

I used to believe that there were little tiny men in white coats inside of stoplights who would watch for cars and change the color of the lights accordingly.

As a child, I too thought that "don't drink and drive" applied to ALL drinks. I would freak out if the person driving took so much as a tiny sip of water.

I used to belive that the road arrows that point up were to go to heaven.

I used to believe that when you flushed the toilet on a train, everything was just dumped onto the track. I was always careful not to use the bathroom while the train was stopped at a station.

When I was little I used to wonder how people got of streets that had 'No exit.' Then I reasoned that it meant that there was no exit for cars - I believed that you could drive your car in but you couldn't drive your car out, so you had to walk out....I had images of a street lined with cars that never moved.

I used to believe that turning signals told the driver which way to turn. I always wondered how it knew where we were going.

I used to believe that the car knew where we were going because the turn signal would turn on before we made the turn.

when i was little, i thought that stoplights were controlled by little men who lived underground at all intersections. they looked up and saw how many cars there were in line and then they pushed a button and switched a light.
