I used to believe…

When iwas little i thought that the Tick tock thing in the car was somehiding in the car making noises.

I used to believe that the garage door opener (the remote) turned traffic lights green. when we came to a red light my dad would wait until the light was about to change and then grab the remote and click it. i was amazed and believed this for years.

I used to think that Wheeling (as in Wheeling, WV) was a kind of ramp, like a ramp to get to get onto an interstate. I don't know why but I just never thought of this as an actual city. I used to see road signs all the time while going to my grandma's for wheeling. I just assmed it was a special kind of ramp. I just learned that it was a city when I turned 13.

I used to believe that there were little men in all of the traffic lights with three buttons; red, green, and yellow. When there was a long wait in the lights then he had fallen asleep.

I used to believe…

My parent's told me that if you push the button at the end of the handbrake in the car, the car will automatically flip onto it's head. When I was 14 my buddy and I were sitting in the car and he reached for the handbrake button - I hit him! He was not amused until I explained to him why I did it. Then he was VERY amused!

I used to believe that all other cars on the road had no drivers. Me and my mum were the only people on the road!

I used to believe that at every traffic intersection where there was a stoplight, that there was a man inside of the home or building on the corner who watched the traffic all day long. He would be the one to make the stoplights work.

I used to believe…

When i was younger, and i didn't understand how trains and subways worked. i would never know how they could have one train going one way, and another train going the other.

i used to think that they had people waiting at the end of the track, to take the train off, and turn it around, so it could go back the way it just came from.

I used to believe that the reason stoplights changed colors,was because there were tiny people who lived in the stoplight and changed the color on a timer.

When I was a kid I used to believe that when you used the toilet on an airplane, a little hatch would open up when you flushed, and the contents would just drop to the earth. Whenever a plane flew overhead I'd run under a tree to keep from getting sploshed.

I used to believe…

While riding in the car, my dad convinced me that the button for the hazard lights, which is a triangle pointed up, was actually the passenger seat ejection button. He would then hold his finger over the button when I was annoying him. This went on for years.

i used to believe that, every time my mom and i went on a short road trip leaving my hometown, we were actually leaving the state, so when we would come back in to town i would exclaim,"i sure am glad we're back in North Carolina!" when in all actuality we never traveled outside of the state by a long shot.

I used to think that when i went abroad on a flight that the destination was in the sky because i had to fly to it haha

When I was a kid, I used to believe that the "ped x-ing" signs meant "pediatrician crossing."

i used to be scared of flushing the toilet in public places because i thought it would suck me up, also the same in aeroplanes

I used to belive there were people under the traffic lights, otherwise they wouldn't work...
