I used to believe…

In our town there was a street called Broadway. While driving through a neighboring town, i saw another street sign deemed Broadway. I thought, Wow! I didn't know that road led all the way here! I didn't realize that a lot of towns have the same street names :]

I used to believe that turn signals started flashing because the car already knew when and where you wanted to turn. So I asked my Great Grandpa how it worked and he told me. And I was really upset because I thought this for a long time

In my child hood we as children used to believe if a tain run over a steel or iron it will get converted to magnet...
magnets were still very crazy thing for me...
another one i used to believe if we throw a coin in sky to much height it will hit a plane..and i got fear of tha as well..

I flew in a plane when I was 8 or so, and was talking to a lady about turbulence because I was afraid that the wings would rip off. She told me that it was the only thing keeping us up. I was then terrified that the turbulence would stop and we'd all fall.

When I was a child my mum used to leave me alone in the car with the engine still running, (it was safe to do this in the 70's!!) whilst she would pop in to the shops and I used to believe that the car may be able to drive off on its own. I would sit there absolutely, completely still in case I jogged it enough for it to drive off.

when i was in 4th or 5th grade i used to think there were
little red, yellow, and green light monsters in the street
lights and that when they burned out the next color went
and so on then i found out about technology....

I used to believe…

When I was younger, I used to believe that little trolls lived in street lights; one for each color. When the light needed to be changed, they'd kick or hit the other one to let them know it was time to change. Lol!

Well when I was in my teens I used to be really afraid of crashing in a car.. (who isnt) but I felt that as long as I was looking where I was going and what was coming; the person driving wouldnt hit ne thing and would stop on time!!!

When i was little i always thought there were little men inside the traffic lights changing the light

I thought the underground railroad was actually a subway.

For a couple years as a little kid, I believed that in certain cars you would peddle like a bicycle to move it because my aunt told me that the car had peddles! I always wondered how she got up the steep hills so easily.

I used to believe…

My dad told me when I was about four that if I opened the wondow on the motorway, my head would fall off. I believed him till I was about 8, but I still don't open the window on the motorway!!

I used to believe…

When I was younger I used to think there was a little man who turned green, yellow, and red switches on an off at a stoplight. I thought that when we had to wait forever at one he had turned on the red switch and went to sleep. I don't know where I got this belief from.

I used to believe that I could predict the green left turn lights and that the color was determined by the fairies that lived inside of them. I would tell my dad whether it was going to be arrow shaped or just a green circle and tell him that I was magic whenever I was correct. It wasn't until I was ten that I noticed the giant "LEFT TURN SIGNAL" signs on the light poles that I "predicted" at.

I used to believe that the arch shaped gray lines on the road were made from a massive truck swerving up and down it. I had it in my head that this was an integral part of the road making process. Last year I realized that they were just the shadows from the electric lines above.
