I used to believe…

When we used to go through the drive-thru at any fast food place I thought by father was breaking the law when he got a diet coke. I believed he was "drinking and driving"...

I used to believe…

when i was little i used to think that the airplains that would fly over my house would come down and capture me(my dad told me that he saw me duck and run across the yard one day!) p.s im still scared of them, and also big hawks/birds!

When I was younger, I used to beleive that if you didn't keep your hands on the wheel of a car at all times it would go out of control and drive any where it wanted to. I used to get scared when my mom let go of the steering wheel

I used to believe that the disabled parking sign indicated that this was a place to put your skippyballs.

I used to believe…

We were driving in a car at night, and I wanted to read. I turned on the little reading light at the back, but my mum told me to turn it off, because "it's dangerous". I turned it off immediately, shocked. For some reason I imagined that if I kept it on, a giant hammer would come out of the car roof, and smash flat all the other cars on the road as we drove past them. Took me years to work out this wasn't the case, and that my mum just got distracted easily when she was driving.

I used to think that there were full sized men curled up inside of the traffic lights who switched the lights from red to green.

i used to believe that air bags were huge inflatable bags of air that would blow up around you if you thought something would be dangerous on the road, and if you were too small you would suffocate!

I used to believe that "convertible" cars were called comfortables. Obviously comfortables provided more comfort, luxury and were more expensive because everybody wanted one. It made sense actually, this car offered the most comfort then any other vehicle. How? For one it didn't have a roof which obviously makes it very comfortable. But i think a lot of kids wanted a "comfortable". Losers.

I used to believe that airplanes made the stops according to wherever separate people wanted to go. It would make multiple stops for each person. I always wondered why my family got to go to their stop first!

I used to believe…

We took road trips a lot when I was younger. I always looked out the windows and read thigns as we drove. I used to think that the signs "do not pass" and"pass with care" meant that we literally couldn't drive down that part of the road. I used to taunt the signs sticking my toungue out as mom or dad drove by them!!! It wasn't until my oldest sister started driver's training that I finally figured out what they meant!

I used to believe that airplanes would land in your yard and pick you up.

I used to believe that when my parents drove the car the car didn't turn....the world did.. My parents would turn the wheel and it would make the entire world turn so we could get where we were going and the vehicle stayed still....

When I was about 4 years old, I remember looking out of the car window and truly believing that the moon was chasing my family down the road because everywhere we went...the moon went...

I used to believe…

When I was younger, I thought there was some guy who's only job was to sit in a little booth by a streetlight and press the buttons that made it turn green, yellow, and red. I would always look for the booth and even though I never found it, I still held fast to this belief. I still remember the day when my preschool teacher burst my bubble when she asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up and I said, "A stoplight changer."

I used to believe that in order to get on an overhead bridge cars drove onto a platform that lifted them up to the bridge, they drove across, then another platform lowered them back down to the road.

When i was little my dad told me little blue people worked inside of peoples cars. and that is how they worked. i believed it up until i saw the inside of a car.
