I think they have these all over the world, but here in Britain we have a crossing light system with a red man standing still, and a green man walking. As a child, I believed when i turned my back, the little red and green men would begin to fight each other for supremacy over the crossing lights. I have no idea why.

When I was young, my mother told me that the sounds the crosswalks made told the blind people when it was alright to go. For the longest time, I wondered what the heck blind people were doing driving!
I used to be scared of airplanes because I thought that when we got to the destination,we had to parachute out. This persisted until I was seven, when I went to the Yucatan, when my parents calmed my fears. Looking back, now I think it would be cool to jump out of the Airplane.

You know those blue signs they have for roads under construction, the ones with the shovel and the hardhat? When I was like 4 or 5 I used to think that there were tiny little people that sat inside traffic lights and controlled the traffic, so whenever we had a green light and just kept going I would turn around in my seat and thank them.
I used to believe that all traffic lights had elves inside of them controlling them. The elves would keep an eye on how many cars were stopped at a red light and then make the light green when it was their turn (and vice versa).
