When I was little I always saw the little note on the mirror in the car on the side that says, " Things that are in the mirror are closer than they appear" so i asked my big cousins what it meant and they said it was a joke...so I belived that for years

I grew up in New Jersey, so naturally there were a lot of highways. We would travel to see our relatives a lot, and since all of the highways looked the same, I could never figure out how my parents knew where to go. Eventually I came to the conclusion that the green signs on the highway said things like: "This Way to Grandma's House", so my parents wouldn't get lost.

I used to think that the road signs that read: "NO SHOULDER" meant you couldn't hang your shoulder out of the car window while driving in the area. It seemed perfectly logical to me.

When I was younger, I used to believe that the car-wash was eating the car everytime we went. My mum still picks on me for it.

When I was younger I used to believe that on the back of stoplights were monkeys pushing the buttons. I figured they just jumped from light to light and changed them from green to yellow to red. I'm not sure where this originated from in my mind...but Im happy to say I no longer believe that :)

I used to believe that the yellow street light meant slow down in Georgia and HURRY UP in LA, California. Apparently, i didn't find out that it was just a joke that my mother had told me three years earlier until i was 12!!!

i used to believe that electric cars had to stay plugged in to a wall socket all the time even when you are driving. i wondered how they could have a long enough cord to go on vacations!!!

When I was a kid and I went into the car with my dad, I'd always roll down the window and it annoyed him, so eventually he locked it. I thought that I had made the window mad and if I waited long enough it would forgive me. I waited one year and then tried the window again, and lo and behold, it worked.

One afternoon I was sitting on the porch watching the occasional car go by, not being able to see the drivers. I then decided to count how many moving cars I could spot that were driving on their own.

When I was 8 and about to migrate to Australia, I thought that once on the plane, i would be able to open the window and scoop some of the cloud and take it with me after I landed. Also thought the mini-cloud would be able to produce rain.

When I was in primary school, probably about five or six, our PE teacher told our class that speed humps were little kids who had refused to do PE and who he had put there to punish them.

For the longest time I used to try and look down the ends of speed humps, looking for the kid!

I used to believe that there were very thin men who would work inside the traffic lights. I believed that they had hamburgers on their head (the pile went all the way up to the top), and I would be happy for them when they could leave, and walk again, once another man had taken his place.

When I was about 5 or 6 my mum and I got in a car wreck when the wheel slipped on a sheet of ice. We did 1 or 2 360s that my mum called donuts later when she was explaining to the family what happened. So, for years when I would tell the story I would tell everyone that one time my mum and I got into a wreck because we slipped on a donut that was left on the side of the road. My mum still picks on me for it.

when i was 3 my dad didn't like the skylight on the car open. 1 day i asked him why and he said that dinosaurs might reach in and bite his head off, even though dinosaurs were "estink". i am soooooo smart

I used to believe that when you were in a car, the indicators were actually controlled by the car. So that would mean, if you said where you wanted to go, the car would take you there! HOW WEIRD AM I?

I believed when going in the car that it was on a big scalextric track and the earth moved underneath us and we stayed still

I used to believe that I could see over the clouds if I looked thru the tinted part on a cars windshield. I believed that I could see God and the Angels looking down at us. I would always ask my mom if she wanted me to check up on my great grandma!
