I used to think that pedestrians were a certain type of people - like people were designated as pedestrians or drivers, and that's what you were for your whole life.

In order to keep me from sticking my arm out of a window, my mom told me a story about a little boy wsho stuck out his arm to wave to his friend and didn't hear his mom roll up the window. he got his arm CHOPPED OFF by the window closing. My mom went into vivid deatail that horrified me. The scary part is I kept searching for the arm on the road. Years later when I told my mom, she denied it.

I used to believe that they had to shrink people to get them into airplanes that were so tiny in the sky.

When we were younger my sisters and I would have to hold our breath whenever we went under a tunnel or bridge in a car. There wasn't really much reason we just thought we had to. This became a problem if the tunnel was very long or if there was a traffic jam inside it!

When I was younger I used to think that cars were being driven by giant children like toy cars but you couldn't see their hands because they were invisible. I don't know why I thought this though because I also thought that other people could see the giants except for my family.

When i read the word 'Aeroplanes', i was confused. I thought they were spelled, 'Airplanes', not aeroplanes.

My belief was that aeroplanes are some kind of 'special' airplanes.

When I was little I used to believe that stoplights were controlled by tiny mice that lived inside the wires, and that if I forgot to "feed" the mice by throwing some air over my shoulder, they would die, but if I asked politely they would change the color of the light for me.

When I was a kid I thought that if you got run over by a transport truck it wouldn't hurt because the wheels were just filled with air. I guess I had no concept of weight back then.

I would always see the signs on the road that read "Grooved Shoulders" and had a picture of a man on a motorcycle. Knowing that groove, was like to dance, I thought you had to rock to the beat with your shoulders, but you had to be cool, like motorcycle dudes! I always thought that people with cameras hid behind the bushes near the sign and would videotape the people dancing and get a kick out of it, and show it on TV. I would always start dancing when we came to these signs, even if there was no music on in the car. When I saw nobody else in the car was doing it, i thought we would get arrested for not following the sign. I would sometimes start crying and my parents had no idea why. I still don't know what that sign means, but its not what I thought!!

eveery once in a while on a plane, i could swich seats with my sister. I thought that the reason i could saftly do this was that the plane had stopped in midair and was hovoring!

Then i was told that if a plane stopped 9n midair it wold fall out of the sky

When I was a little kid, I thought that when you drove a car that the car made the world move around. Then I had the epiphany that if a lot of cars are going at once that it would rip the earth somewhere, so that ended quickly.

Oh yea, and again when I was little, when a semi passed us, I thought it made us go in reverse. If you've ever had one of them pass you, then you know what I mean. ^_^

Up until I was in the 5th or 6th grade, I believed that the reason there were two pedals in a car was because one of them was "go forward" and the other was "go backward."

When I was a kid I used to think there was a little man inside the traffic lights that pushed a button to change the colors. I always thought that's what "little person" meant..

You know how when you look at a map, all the countries and states are dvided by dotted white lines? I thought that we always drove on the right because the left was a different state, not ours!

I used to think the cassete player in the car was magic because it seemed to rewind the tapes automaticly.

Later i learned my mom was doing the rewinding.
