When I was a little, I often used to see one and the same dream. The thing is that strange car chased me, I tried to escape, but car didn't have any barriers. It was really terrible and I still get nervous when I dream something like that.
I used to believe that when people tailgating before a sporting event meant the same as tailgating on the road, and I wondered why people would drive around for hours really closely behind people before games. I believed this well into my teens!

My friend had a five year old son who wad convinced that Volkswagon Beetles were the baby form of the larger Volkswagon vans like the one his family owned!He was even sure that he had seen a van "mating" with another vehicle- his mom thought maybe he had seen a van being towed and that's why why one end appeared to be up in the air and stuck to another vehicle.

My first time flying, I asked my dad what the 'Call Flight Attendant' button did. He said "Don't touch that or the flight attendant lady will come here and start yelling!" For years after I thought it was an 'Argument Assistance' button. If you were arguing with a friend or family member, you could call the flight attendant to help you yell at them!

When I was younger I believed that all traffic lights had little leprechaun type men in them that were in charge of watching the traffic to know when to change the lights from red to green and I would get upset when they didn't change "in time"; I simultaneously thought my Papa had a special relationship with these tiny people because he could point at the light and make it change to green. Every. Single. Time. I thought they looked up to him like I did :)

I thought that the "No Passing" sign on a road meant you weren't allow to drive past the sign, and I thought everyone was breaking the law.
I thought it was someone's job to change traffic lights and that every intersection with a traffic light had an underground office where someone was watching traffic via a camera and pressing buttons to make the lights change.

When I was younger I didn't understand how cars fit inside a lane on the road because when you are sitting on the inside of the car, it looks like you take up the whole road.
I used to believe there were men all crammed inside traffic lights and that there were buttons for red green and orang, and whenever there pressed a button, a penny gets sent to their home through a slot. I thought they had a very hard time picking up all that money.

When I was little (maybe 5 or 6?), I was allowed to sit in the front seat of my mom's old car. When I couldn't sit in the front seat of newer cars and asked why, she said it was because they had air bags. When I asked what air bags were, she described them as a balloon that comes out when the car gets into an accident. So for years I pictured a helium-filled balloon floating up next to the car to alert anyone nearby that an accident had occurred.

When I was just 4, I used to accuse my Dad of going through red traffic lights, because even though the light was green for our side, I assumed that if you could still "see" the red light for the other side that still applied to you - and you shouldn't drive through it!
