I used to believe…

WHen I was a lil kid I used to always look up and see pigeons like on the traffic light post like when we were stopepd at a red light, and I thought that the pigeons follow the traffic lights laws also, lol

I used to believe that if me and a car pushed against each other at a dead stop, I could win. I figured this so because when I saw the car's torque was for example, 146lbs/ft, if my added total weight I could lift with my arms plus legs was greater than the cars torque, I'd surely win.

I used to believe that bus drivers always gave you chocolate when you bought your ticket. My mum always had chocs in her bag when we went into town, i suppose to bribe me to behave. So whenever we got on the bus and i sat down promptly in my seat,i got a sweet, which i assumed the driver gave her.I WAS VERY UPSET the first time i was old enough to get the bus alone and did not get my sweet!!

I used to think that the turn signals were for making the car go around corners. I couldn't figure out how the car knew when to start making the turn since the grownups always put the signal on before the turn.

I used to believe that the beam from street lights made your car go at night. The beams reached down from the poles, connected to your car, and passed you on to the next street light beam, which in turn passed you to the next and so on. When we would enter a street with no lights, I assumed that the last light had given us enough of a "sling-shot" effect to keep us going.

I believed for a long time that 'Drinking and Driving' meant drinking anything while driving, not just alcohol.

i used to believe that the yellow road sign for curves ahead was really a warning for a car with tenticles. whenever i saw that sign, always kept my eye out for that car.

I used to believe…

My Father used to tell me that our car (which we had named Basanti) knew the way home. He would demonstrate this by removing his hands of the wheel and once he even removed his feet of the accelerator and Basanti kept going in the direction that lead to our house! Little did this nine year old duffus know that Basanti had Cruise Control!!!

I used to believe…

When I was little I always sat in the back seat of the car when my parents were driving. I never saw them turn the turning signal on so I thought that the car memorized where we were going or it read minds. Finally when I sat in the front seat I saw them turn the signal on, ifinally realized what was going on

I used to believe…

My dad used to tell me that midgets lived in the traffic lights, and that if we didn't pay homage to them they'd get cranky and cause accidents. People always did think I was a bit of a retard when I started praying and bowing to the lights...

My mother told me she used to believe that the it was the pavement on the street that moved the cars, and not the cars that drove themselves...

When I was a kid I used to believe that those signs on the road that said "Blind Driveway" meant that the driveway was used by a blind person.

I used to read the text on cars' side-view mirrors wrongly. It really says "Objects In Mirror Are Closer Than They Appear." I thought it was two separate sentences: "Objects in mirror are closer. Then they appear." Like maybe they would suddenly appear after it seemed they were very far away? I dunno, it made sense at the time.

i used to believe when people first bought cars that they didnt drive it they just picked it and walked home with and that people had only one birhtday in their entire lives.

I used to believe…

At the Illinios toll booths I used to think that there were trolls living under the coin machines that counted the change and then let the gate up for you if it was correct and if it was wrong that they would come up and get you

When i was little i was told by my mother there where little men in traffic lights that used to change the colour of the lights! I told other kids in school and got the mick taken out of me for ages. That cut deep!

I used to believe…

When I was 2 or 3 i used to think if I clicked the seatbelt button on the righthand side of my mom's car i would cause the car to blowup!

I remember as we rode home at night I would look out the window at the shoulder of the road and I would always see shiny disks reflecting light in my eyes. For the longest time I believed that they were silver dollars and that If I could only get my dad to stop the car I would be rich! Later in life I would walk along the dirt roads and search the shoulders but alas! they were only tin cans disgarded by litterbugs. (Must have been a lack of depth perception.)
